DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Follow the Company’s HSE Management System, policies & procedures for the prevention of injury, ill health, damage and environmental impact. Advise and guide management, of designated area(s), on ways to achieve the objectives and targets of the system and foster understanding of these within the assigned projects.

Coordinate and communicate HSE activities between Company and Client, Consultant, Contractors and/or Subcontractors who may be working on the same site or in close proximity.

Assist in audit, review, and revisions in HSE documentation for the continual improvement of the Company management systems.

Perform all activities in compliance with the Company Health, Safety & Environmental Management System (HSEMS) and the assigned specific responsibilities and comply with and implement the local laws and Client requirements related to Health, Safety and Environmental aspects at workplace as per the bestowed authority and responsibility.

Monitor compliance of Company personnel and Sub – contractor on the approved Project HSE Plan and safety procedures and processes, method statements and associated risk assessments.

Immediately report any Non – conformances, corrective action reports or safety violation slips issued to the Project Engineer verbally and by hand written report copied to the HSE Dept.

Chair internal site safety meetings including sub – contractors HSE representative. Prepare and distribute the minutes to all concern and copy to HSE office.

Report if any imminent danger will be immediately brought to the individual concern and it should be reported to the Project Manager in case of the work requiring to be ceased.

Ensure that all accidents, near miss incidents, dangerous occurrences are immediately reported to the HSE office by phone and later by hand written preliminary report from concerned supervisor

Ensure that Contractor is implementing the HSE plan and provide quarterly progress report to the client/concerned.

Develop or enhance / improve Contractor’s emergency response procedure

Conduct HSE inspection of camp facilities and work locations and report findings. Follow up until the close out of the recommendations

Conduct HSE audits and report findings in a proper manner. Audits shall include but not limited to Contractor’s senior management high visibility tours, PTW audits, Road Safety audits and spot checks, etc.

Ensure that the Contractor’s fire and safety equipment’s are receiving timely preventive maintenance. Examples: vehicles, firefighting system, fire detection system, emergency equipment, first aid boxes, etc.

Attend the weekly safety tool box talk meetings. Create safety awareness amongst all employees on incidents; accidents occurred during the week and on specific situational hazards.

Coordinate or assist with Project Manager and his team in handling “EMERGENCY” situations.

Managing and organizing the safe disposal of hazardous substances.

Making additions/alterations to working practices that are safe and comply with legislation.
