WORK EXPERIENCE

February 2021- To-date- Volunteer with 40 Days over 40 Smiles Uganda- Kampala

Roles: I do engage children and local communities in activities to improve learning outcomes for the vulnerable children. This entails change in what we see, entrepreneurial skilling, self- awareness and confidence building, developing team work and collaboration among learners, creating a sense of purpose and learning process by way of better comprehension.

2020- Part time Life Skills Trainer with Life Skills Uganda- Kabarole District:

Roles: Training youth in life skills that can enable them live productive lives despite of life challenging situations i.e. financial literacy and entrepreneurial skills including hands on training in making reusable pads, paper bags and bottle decorations for interior house decoration, communication skills, confidence building and self- esteem. All together I was able to train eighty youthn50 girls and 30 boys, with follow up support and mentorship

June- August 2019: Intern at Kabarole District Local Government

Responsibilities: During the internship period with Kabarole District Local Government under Administration department I carried out various tasks like attending District meetings and taking minutes, I attended to clients and offered them guided response more so listening to administrator general issues, conducted data track in regard to recording attendance of workers, ensured timely reporting of activities and record keeping.

May- August 2017: Volunteer at Karago Town Council Kabarole District, a local level of government which plays an important role in promoting the town, supporting the work of different sectors in the community.

Responsibilities:

I tracked enrolment in schools to both teachers and pupils and also in case of irregularities being able to reconcile them with immediate effect,

I engaged in stakeholders meetings with teachers, head teacher to improve learning outcomes during teachers meetings, as also I encouraged use the local available resources in class room teaching demonstrations for learners cognitive development. I mentored students with in clubs for example the Junior farmers club to ensure children were equipped with knowledge of nutrition, other farming techniques like urban farming in which the gardens they got food to eat during lunch hours, these crops included maize, vegetables, sweet potatoes among others.

I conducted household visits to ensure communities were empowered with education equity measure, sanitation and hygiene campaigns to ensure children and community members do not fall victim poor sanitation or diseases that result from poor sanitation and strict regulations were put in place by Town council of members who failed to comply.

I regularly made reports that informed my field activities to the town clerk which helped in tracking of challenges in schools and from where possible solutions reached.

Major Achievements: I played a key role in ensuring track of school welfare data for the best interest of a child.
