Duties & Responsibilities

Review and monitor the procedures and methods for the inspection

Verify that the welding procedure are as specified and are qualified, and that the welding is performed in conformance to the applicable procedure.

Receiving consumable inspection and verify all consumable welding materials conform to the specification.

Monitoring and controlling the storage of welding consumables handling, maintaining log sheet for issue of welding electrodes,

Verify that the welding equipment’s to be used for the work is appropriate for use with the welding procedure and verify the calibration certificates

To ensure that the welders, welding operators and tack welders have been qualified in conformance to the application code/standards and that they are qualified to use the welding procedures specified for the work.

Witness welder qualification test and supervise these activities when performed by outside agencies

Visually check fit up, root gap, misalignment, and bevel angle with suitable equipment’s.

Knowledge in verifying the dimensions and inspecting the alignment of pipes

Monitoring in process welding inspection, (! e) preheating, welding machine parameters, environment, welders’ skills, interpasscleaning, maintaininginterpass temperature.

Inspection of final weld quality for visual defects weld face and root appearance.

Releasing the weld joint for other NDT test after the successful completion of visual inspection.

Raising the request for inspection (RFI) to the client for all stage wise inspections.

Selecting the joints for RT Inspection as per project and code requirements.

Monitoring and witnessing of MPT & DPT test

Nonconformity Report on observing a deviation from the applicable drawings, plans, procedures and specifications

To review the corrective actions for adequacy and closeout. To obtain management action if required to close out the nonconformity report. And maintaining Nonconformity Report Log.
