PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Serving as Assistant Manager (Sourcing and Supplier Improvement Team) at Godrej and Boyce Mfg. Co. Ltd. Appliances Division, Mohali, from Aug’ 2019 to till date.

Godrej and Boyce, a Godrej Group Company, began in 1897 with the manufacture of locks, then extending to other durables (refrigerators, washing machines, air conditioners, home security systems and safes, furniture), products for institutions (office furniture, audio-visual products, access control systems, perimeter security products, bank security products, beverage vending machines, interior products, hospital and laboratory furniture) and industrial products (process equipment, materials handling equipment, industrial storage products, tooling, precision equipment).

1.Procurement: Monthly cost revision and finalization of cost for Injection Molded plastic parts, color masterbatches and job work for washing machine parts. (Existing parts and new developments, annual buying of INR 180 Cr). Purchase order processing for monthly procurement.

2.Mold Management: Mold life tracking, new mold development tracking with NPD, mold management audits at supplier end, mold maintenance planning and execution.

3.Count free Bin packaging: Aesthetic components to be brought in 3-C packing.

4.MIS and monthly data management: IQI (Incoming quality index) sheet updating and IQI Monitoring /Penalty sheet for suppliers /SQSA (Supplier quality system assurance) monitoring /Digitization Monitoring/Certification Monitoring done monthly /MIS updating.

5.IQI improvement: Monthly IQI monitoring and analysis of top contributors for improvement of IQI.

6.Capacity calculations: To update capacity calculation sheet monthly and calculating manufacturing capabilities of suppliers w.r.t. production plans.

7.Data analysis: Analysis of various departmental data base w.r.t price fluctuation, BOM impact, cost take ins and outs, raw material requirements and many more.

8.Miscellaneous: Various responsibilities of supplier improvement team. Attending quality reviews and product aesthetics enhancement meetings and few more additional responsibilities for multirole experience.

PROJECT

1.Reusability of polybag:

The plastic polybag in a washing machine component is being wasted as reusability was not there. The project proposed to develop a reusable packing resulting into saving of approximately 5 Ton of plastic bag per annum and around INR 17 Lakh per annum. The project is in trial stage and is planned to be implemented by 30TH of June 2021 after successful trials and process standardization.

2.3-C Packing:

The Injection molded plastic aesthetic parts and critical electrical, control and cycle parts are to be covered under 3-C project. This project is to develop a packaging which is count free, contamination free and contact free. The project is in final trial and approval stage, same is planned to be implemented by 30TH of July 2021 in 3 phases.
