Global Category Manager-Raw Materials

Worked with cross-functional teams to collaborate, coordinate and consolidate global raw material spends, reduce excess inventories and evaluate vendor quality to drive cost savings within the manufacturing and production environments. Worked directly with plant managers, purchasing managers and inventory controllers at each of the manufacturing and service centers in North America, Canada, South America and the Middle East. Responsible for negotiating global and regional contracts for bar, mechanical tubing, capillary tube, coil pipe and plate in carbon, steel, alloy steel, stainless, brass and nickel alloys to support Weatherford Global Manufacturing operations. Monitored the contract compliance of a global raw material spend of $153M.

Key Accomplishments:

Managed a Global team consisting of 6 direct reports and 23 indirect reports.

Reduced a supply base of nearly 1,200 raw material vendors to less than 400 suppliers globally. The U.S. vendor base was reduced to less than 75 key suppliers.

Member of the Transformation Team responsible for 14 initiatives responsible for driving cost reductions in raw materials of over 10%, yielding a net savings of nearly $15M.

Coordinated directly with vendors to navigate through Weatherford’s Chapter 11 Restructuring and filing process to ensure the uninterrupted supply of raw materials to manufacturing and production.

Worked directly with Abu Dhabi Manufacturing team to secure a contract with ADNOC for nickel alloy flow couplings. This resulted in an initial $2.1M purchase of pilgered tube to meet the first delivery.

Reduced obsolete/excess rotor bar inventory at WFT-Edmonton PCP plant by nearly $1.3M in 2018.

Drove Value Added/Value Engineered initiatives by working directly with Engineering, Metallurgy and Manufacturing to reduce cost from raw materials used in manufacturing by 15-35%.

Drove purchasing changes for select products from Distribution to Mill Direct ie. brass barrel liners resulting in a 52% cost savings of $2.9M.

Consolidated DOM tubing spends to drive $3M NRB savings for WFT-Colorado Springs ALS plant.
