PROJECT PROFILE 1:

Project Title: Pricing Operating Platform (POP)

Client: Northern Trust

Duration: Sept 2017 – till date

DESCRIPTION: POP is new Pricing Application (i.e., Pricing Operating Platform) which is being designed to replace existing Legacy pricing applications APR (Automated Pricing) system and Pricing Repository and Scrubber (PRC) in Phased wise. This is an long term project, which business taken up to complete migrate to POP from the Legacy. As part of this Project, all fixed income and Equity assets has being migrated to POP platform from 2017 to until now. Legacy Mainframe application APR sends custody holdings and its Asset characteristics data to POP. POP uses these holdings and Asset data for pricing the assets for the End-of Day. POP gets the Pricing data from the different Market Data Providers like Bloomberg, Reuter’s data for all the regions APAC EMEA & Latin America and US. POP uses these Market data from different vendors and masters the Price by applying the business rules and then masters the prices. This Mastered Price is exported to Legacy Mainframe APR to feed the prices to downstream applications. Currently, Intraday Pricing of Assets is under development for migrating to POP for mastering the prices for the intraday holdings. After this, Client Directed Pricing and Client Provided Pricing will be taken up.

Project Title: Pricing SOAP Service (PRS)

Client: Northern Trust

Duration: June 2017 – Sept 2017

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: APR (Automated Pricing) system and Pricing Repository and Scrubber (PRC) System together constitute the Pricing Repository & Scrubber (PRS) application. The APR system resides on the mainframe. The APR system is responsible for maintaining a current list of asset holdings from various custody systems and creating Asset characteristics files which containing the asset information and sending the information to the PRS system on the Unix platform. The APR system also receives pricing information from several vendors for various types of securities held by Northern Trust clients. This pricing information is used by various systems, including, but not limited to Reporting and Valuations. This new pricing SOAP service is designed and developed on Mainframe to provide the pricing information to downstream application, which consumes these prices for Client Valuation and Reporting.

Project Title: Assets Instrumentation and Pricing

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Asset Pricing Accounting is the central repository of data about assets, their institution, account and pricing information. It has interface with number of other subsystems like Trade applications and feeds data to legacy systems like Fund Master and IMS. Also, many other applications like PACE, Management Reporting etc. directly retrieves data from “APAR”. For any asset related information makes APAR one of the most critical of all applications. APAR system is fed by number of vendors CUSIP, Bloomberg, FTS/EXTEL, BRIDGE feed streams to keep the system updated with most current of asset related information. AIP database follows “Real Global Financial Data Model” from FTI (Financial Technologies International). It is based on IBM’s DB2. APAR database includes identifiers, quality ratings, descriptions, industry classifications, prices, issuer data, income events, corporate actions, fixed income characteristics, geographic data and taxation characteristics.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Trust Bank reporting (TBR) application has one of the regulatory project impacts which was called Money Market Reform project. I was involved in this project right from requirements – design phase to production implementation. This project involved a team of 8 people with onshore-offshore coordination. Project Title: Tri-Party Reverse Repo.

DESCRIPTION: A Tri-Party Reverse Repo is where our client is long in cash & the cash is loaned out to a counterparty in return for stock as collateral which is lodged with a 3rd party Collateral Manager. Our client is the collateral taker in this process. The collateral agent is responsible for settlement, collateral management and maintenance of multicurrency report transactions. Cash settlement and collateral management is based on delivery against payment (DVP) settlement. Collateral received in connection with a Triparty repo exposure is monitored and marked-to-market on a daily basis to ensure the collateral margin requirements is maintained.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Euro clear has a vision to create a domestic market for Europe by harmonizing market practices and consolidating IT platforms. They aim to tackle market inefficiencies that make the cost of cross border transactions in Europe prohibitive in comparison with the cost of domestic transactions. With these changes being driven through by Euro clear, JPMC must make changes to their back office to synchronize with the new market practices and the IT platforms. Such large changes have presented JPMC with the opportunity to rationalize their back-office infrastructure and provide a more streamlined system. A strategic part of that rationalization is the decommissioning of the Trafic application (including the Trafic GUI).

Project Title: Auto FX Migration

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The FX Bookkeeping system is today a fully automated foreign exchange broker system, acting as an intermediary between the Investor Services Cosmic systems and the Treasury dealing rooms’ front-office fxXpress systems. Deal instructions received from the source are transmitted to fxXpress for pricing. Upon completion the deals are returned to FX Bookkeeping, which in turn passes the information back to the source system. As per the initiatives taken to enhance the FXB application to accept the non-custody related transactions and thus allow flows from other TSS products to leverage and execute transactions through this mechanism, re-engineering the existing FXB application from the COSMIC Mainframe platform on to a web platform has been taken up. FXB application is envisaged to provide an interface to all the Source Systems and the Users (UI) via a standard FX Bookkeeping Interface. Services and features that FXB application will provide are same as the ones offered by the existing FXB Mainframe application along with some enhancements and process optimizations that have been requested by the application users.

Project Title: Sweep FX

Duration: Aug 2006 – Apr 2007

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Clients that wish their accounts to be included in Sweep FX will provide Sweep FX standing instructions for the accounts. A standing instruction for an account will hold the information on the sweep date, time, subsidiary and master accounts, their customer number, currencies etc. Sweep Scheduler, which will produce, store and send to CER a list of balance requests for the next business day sweep. To ensure contingency three balances will be requested for accounts that do not allow late sweeps (i.e. they should be swept exactly on the sweep time), otherwise one balance request will be produced.
