APPRENTICESHIP THROUGH WILSON ROWNTREE ( NESTLE)

After completing my apprenticeship at Wilson Rowntree, I started at Candy Tops as a Fitter and Turner. With hard work, dedication and experience, I was first made the production manager and later the factory manager, running the plant with more than 350 staff members.

Candy Tops changed their name to Mister Sweets when Lodestone bought the company.

● Factory was owned by the Lodestone Group and moved to Johannesburg in April 2016

REASON FOR LEAVING CANDY TOPS:

I accepted a job at Dynamic Brands which is part of the Lodestone group to install and commission machines for a Candy Tops confectionery plant that they wanted to keep in East London. Thereafter, I ran the plant as a factory manager.

The confectionary plant was sold and I was retrenched. WORK EXPERIENCE

MY CAREER

● Managing +- 350 staff including the training programme for the various job functions

● Production and maintenance budget

● Weekly production plan, staff line allocation and shift allocation

● Health and Safety Management

● Plant Hygiene and the implementation thereof

● Cost savings ie. Watch the rand per kg per budget

● Formulate and maintain recipes to make sure that they are being adhered to and to ensure a high standard of quality is maintained
