Project Lead

Global Electronic Data Interchange is the exchange of information between OOCL, its customers, and trading partners through the use of EDI standards. SVI played a major role in this project, by providing Development, SQA, and Production Support services.

Responsible for training of staff, monitoring of staff performance, and ensuring that deliverables are met. Served as the liaison between OOCL and SVI management. Participated actively in the development effort, where I was tasked to setup and test new EDI messages for OOCL and its partners.

Software Quality Assurance Team Lead

Thomson West is a leading information provider in the US. They provide legal, regulatory, and business information to their clients along with the technology tools to manage it. SVI served Thomson West by ensuring that the systems requirement and quality specifications of its applications are met.

Supervised a team of ten testers, handling the Westlaw Legal Publishing website of Thomson West. Prepared daily tasks for the team. Monitored and QA the team’s output. Consolidated daily output reports, submitted to the onsite and client. Coordinated with the onsite resource regarding special tests and instructions from the client, relaying this to the team. Mentored and assisted team members in coding and running of automated test scripts.

Software Quality Assurance Tester

Conducted regression testing for Thomson West’s Continuing Legal Education Center (WLEC), and Westlaw Legal Publishing website. Regression testing is to test the site entirely after every build, to check if the current defects were fixed and also to ensure that the other functionalities were not affected by the enhancements. Prepared test cases for new defects discovered, to be resolved by the development team. Coded and maintained the test plan and test scripts using SilkTest 7.1 for automated regression testing.

Recruitment Management System (RMS)/SVI-SSC June 2003 to September 2003

Developer

Developed and tested the Recruitment Management System. RMS is a web-based internal tool used for SVI’s recruitment and hiring process. RMS was developed using the Microsoft.NET framework. Codes for the back-end and the user interface modules are written in C# and ASP.NET respectively. The database used was SQL Server 7, accessed through ADO.NET. XML was the standard used to pass data parameters.

In charge of developing the manpower request, administration, e-mail notification, and common library modules. Helped in the maintenance of the RMS database in the Microsoft SQL Server.
