The first challenge I faced was to find Yara N- sensor representative in Lithuania. Google was helpless because the web page was located in Germany with Lithuanian, Latvian and Estonian sub-pages. Some customers were looking for our products on e-buy because our company was invisible for Google if search conducted inside LT LV or EE.

It is not exactly my specialty, but the first thing I did was work with Google ad words and social media to make the company more visible and easier to find on the net. • Precision farming equipment. Started this business from 0. Back in 2005 spotted potential for this kind of equipment in the market due to the demographic trends. Created the strategy to enter the market, hand-picked products line, negotiated with suppliers on special promotions to kick-start new technology in the market. We were the fastest-growing market in the EU for Case IH AFS equipment (mostly Trimble) when I was in charge.

At the time I got back to Lithuania (2002) it was the very beginning of the market economy. That was the transition from "Wild East" to civilized businesses. EU support program for the farmers SAPARD was kicking in and the fact that I'm fluent in technical English was more than enough to get the job. I was considered as overqualified for the technical job and this is how I become the manager at the largest AG equipment sales company of that time and got in charge of New Holland products group. I had no clue what the manager does at the time. Newer heard about Products manager position before but this is what I and my teammates did. We created a structure of salesman, management, after-sales support. I did go to every technical training as an interpreter (none of the technicians knew English back then). In less than a year we boosted sales tenfold and had to keep up with after sales, customer support at the same pace. That was exciting times but then I got an offer from Dotnuva Baltic witch had much better and clear motivation program and more Western views at doing businesses so I did accept this offer.
