PROJECT:

“ANALYSIS OF HEAT TRANSFER BY VEARYING THE PARAMETRS OF ENGINE FINS UNDER STEADY STATE CONDITION ”

Software used Ansys Workbench ( Steady State Condition).

Understand the meaning of extend surface or fin.

The main objective of the project is to increase the heat transfer rate of fin which could be achieved by modifying certain parameters and geometry of the same.

Analyzing the heat transfer through fins of uniform cross section.

Analyzing The Heat transferred by the Fins by making different notches. CONCLUSION

For given fin Configuration Heat Transfer increases with increase in the height and also by increase in the no. of fins & fin spacing

Validation to the standard journal .

The HTC for notched fin array is superior to the unnotched fin array.

The HTC increases with increase in percentage cut of notch

For the same fin configuration, percentage of cut & heat load the HTC for Squire notch is higher than the v-Notch, rectangular & circular notched fin array. ACHIEVEMENTS:

Here I learned right from creating the basic sketches to 3D modelling and how to make assemblies by using constraints & Synchronous Modeling, also I learnt about how to create the engineering drawing of both existing and newly created part file.
