Over 35,000 guests were welcomed annually into one of our approximately 900 vehicles distributed across 8 locations throughout the US. Led the rental operations to deliver customers an unforgettable experience, managed the fleet allocation and operations, and aggressively grew and oversaw sales which guaranteed the newest rental fleet in the industry. Selected Accomplishments:

• Managed transition from owner-operated to a division of a public held company. Grew revenue over the last 3 years by more than USD 25.0m (+65%), EBIT by USD 4.5m (+75%) and increased the ROFE to almost 30%.

• Achieved this by improving b2b and b2c processes, reducing paperwork, investing in personnel, providing leadership training, opening an additional branch, building out infrastructure, increasing rental capacity and sales output.

• The relentless pursuit of efficiency and process improvement helped build a culture of common goals, strengthen the accountability, advance the organizational performance, establish wider leadership and significantly increase safety.

• Consolidated data, improved booking engine, reservation system, simplified IT infrastructure and check-in process to provide a consistent customer experience, reduce the reservation agent efforts and enable multi-channel sales.

• Implemented multi-channel strategy to improve customer experience, eliminate redundancies and capture bookings consistently. Resulted in better personalized service, higher booking volume and lower cost/booking.

• Established first national health insurance plan, introduced HR processes with offer letters, employee handbook, written policies and safety manuals, cross-training, formal goal setting, direct deposit and transacted lawsuits and settlements.

Held a variety of global line and program management roles simultaneously. Successfully merged three legacy systems in to one unified global Common Application and Technology Inventory (CATI) and established standard operating procedures to ensure proper system governance and scalability. Selected Accomplishments:

• Established CATI as global single-source decision support and planning tool resulting in functional redundancy and dependencies reduction freeing up IT resources allowing the IT organization to increase its output and business focus.

• The global repository, CATI, contained the conceptual representation for over 1,500 infrastructure products, 7,000 applications, 10,000 data-feeds, and provided their primary key throughout the company, and was the golden source for information like end-of-life dates, life cycle plans, Architecture Status, Technical Standards, etc.

• Recruited global staff to realize CATI, supporting its users, continuing to align the global concepts and processes behind it, evolving its role and importance to the company to reduce functional redundancy, increase standardization and align IT organizations; trained and developed the staff to become Business Managers respectively IT Architects.

• Identified legacy applications not properly retired and worked with application owners to retire those applications saving $50+ million annually.

• Coached Technical Analysts and taught well received project management topic during the CIO Challenge. Chief Information Officer (CIO) 2005 – 2007

Theodor Wille Intertrade GmbH, Zug, Switzerland

Managed information technology of an international procurement, sourcing and supply chain company with offices in the US, Europe, the Middle and Far East. Worked with the Board of Directors to get its approval for investing into standardized global infrastructure, streamlined IT operations and replace in-house systems with an off-the shelf product solution. Selected Accomplishments:

• Achieved major cost savings by eliminating costly ‘fixes’ and downtime from old systems. Introduction of formalized, agile project management reached break-even point after only 1 year.

• Reduced IT operational costs by 50%. Improved user satisfaction and system reliability with standardized processes, system set-up, Active Directory based single-sign on and new hardware for all. Designed and migrated hosting center from North Carolina to Zurich and introduced centrally-managed infrastructure.

• Enhanced efficiency by re-engineering IT programs, improving team performance levels and empowering IT staff to work independently. Introduced Balanced Scorecard to measure, manage and report IT performance and drivers.

• Delivered cost savings and productivity improvements by lowering licensing costs, reducing error rates, introducing single sign-on for all systems, and streamlining of installation processes.
