The Recreation Assistant ensures that facilities are clean and presentable; schedules and follows up on routine maintenance and daily cleanliness of all rooms to prepare rooms as needed for each guest; takes reservations and payment for guest rooms; checks guests in and out, submits work orders for facilities, submits requests for purchase of equipment and supplies for use in facility areas; maintains accountability of equipment and supplies; prepares work schedules for Resident Assistants assigned to work areas: assists with the public address (PA) sound system and operates the movie equipment as needed. • Ensure that only authorized guests are accommodated in the Guest Rooms.

• Maintain accurate records of financial transactions to include credit card transactions, deposit slips and daily work sheet of room occupancies.

• Inspect each room for cleanliness and safety prior to guests checking in.

• Prepares requisitions for supplies and submits all work orders.

• Train volunteer assistants helping in the Guest Room office.

• Ensure that the guests are following all rules.

• Ensure outgoing laundry is properly prepared for weekly pick-up.

• Provides mail services for Residents within the campus.

• Assist in special events and joint programs with the division (to include independent living, assisted living end long term care) as needed that insure effective use of facilities. Program elements include: 1. Social Activities – dances; socials, trips and tours, and entertainment to meet the needs and interests of a geriatric population. 2. Wellness Activities – wellness programs, tournaments and outdoor activities. 3. Arts & Crafts – ceramics, woodworking, framing, painting and general hobbies.

4. Services – wrapping room and auto hobby shop.
