The Congresswoman officiated the event with collaborative efforts and participation of other affiliative federal agencies, including a federal judge, who delivered the United States Oath of Citizenship, and Immigration and Naturalization Services staff, from the Detroit, Michigan office.

There were over 187 participants newly sworn in as American Citizens, in attendance at the ceremony.
