Overtook the Underdeveloped and Incomplete GSF Grand Banks Rig Project to construct and refurbish two port/STBD deck cranes, two below-deck cranes, eight anchor winches, and a fast-rescue craft (FRC) while minimizing cost overruns. SOW included the removal/demolition of the existing MAN Wolfkran HDK 800 HM 344000 and pedestal down to lower deck and replacement with a NOV (National Oil Well) Model 72DNSE-2.25 Diesel Hydraulic Kingpost Crane. Milestones Included o Identified and Applied Appropriate Welding Procedures (per class requirements) by defining the metal composition of 35+ year old original OEM chain welps.
o Corrected the Requirements for New STBD (NOV) King Post Deck Crane Specifications to improve the bidding process. o Expedited Critical Casting for the Rebuild of Anchor Winches. o Developed and Established the Project’s First Contingency Plans/Protocols. o Secured Heliport Transportation to move parts while the rig was under tow and in route from Halifax to Pascagoula. o Identified and Resolved Potential Lost Time/Delays by scheduling individual task line items and effectively allocating labor.
