Experiences
●I have great experiences in culture-based microbiology Based on my APHA 2017 including Heterotrophic plate count, Total coliforms, E. coli, fecal streptococci, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, LAL, and Bioburden testing.
●Performing molecular techniques such as DNA/RNA extraction, DNA isolation, electrophoresis, real time PCR, conventional PCR, plasmid isolation and characterization, Sanger sequencing.
●I have designed several multiplex qPCR& PCR kits for the simultaneous detection of bacteria and viruses. For example, one of my kits, a hexaplex one is designed for the environmental (water) samples which can specifically and simultaneously detect 6 targets including, Escherichia coli, Salmonella spp., Shigella spp., Enterococcus spp., Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Vibrio cholera. My other designed PCR kits include
oOne Pentaplex for Shigella (to detect all genuses)
oTwo hexaplexes for pathotyping Escherichia coli
oOne Pentaplex for Enterococcus (to detect some important geneses)
oOne Hexaplex for Salmonella enterica (to detect some important serovars)
oOne Pentaplex for Vibrio cholera (to detect toxin, biotype and serogroup)
oDetecting Legionella by qPCR applying ISO TS 12869.
● Knowledge and prior hands-on experiences with molecular biology tools (including nucleic acid processing, qPCR and RT-qPCR assays, and next generation sequencing) and bioinformatics (genomic and metagenomics) tools are desirable. I am highly self-motivated and with excellent communication skills, and will work on research projects on wastewater surveillance of COVID-19 and other infectious diseases. It is noteworthy that I have developed the duplex qPCR kit for Coronavirus and Enterovirus detection.
●I have passed ISO/IEC 17025 courses and I am able to run the lab works based on ISO protocols. Therefore, I can Maintain standard requirements for ISO 17025 accreditation by working within the requirements of the NAFG Laboratory Quality Management System. I Exhibit technical competence in these areas, Accuracy of results established by analyzing a Certified Reference Material and Measure of uncertainty calculations utilized to verify adherence to requirements.
●I can apply some necessary quality control actions of a lab including UV irradiation efficiency and Culture media recovering test based on MC farland, Surface sterilization efficiency determination and so on.
●Knowledge of soft wares including Office tools to accurately enter testing data and results and statistically analyzing the results.
●Maintains open communication with supervisors and fellow employees to ensure optimal operation of the department.
●Working for a long time in water and wastewater laboratory, I have good experiences in chemistry tests such as pH, Electrical Conductivity, Total Suspended Solids (TSS), Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), BOD, COD, free residual chlorine, heavy metals (by Voltammetry polarography), and so on.
●As my Ph.D. thesis “Metagenomics analysis of hypersaline ecosystem”, I am studying the whole genomes of an extreme environment both cultured-based and metagenomics based (bioinformatics soft wares such as R studio, QIIME, and Linux).
