2016 Apr to 2020 Nov Dulux Zambia. Supply Chain Department

Position: Site HSE Business Partner reporting to the Production Manager

Major tasks:

HEALTH,SAFETY, ENVIRONMENT AND SECURITY

●Management of people safety. That include conduct training in behavioral based safety

●Ensure employees adhere to the AkzoNobel’s minimum safety requirements while on site

●To perform incidents and accident investigation on and offside.

●To ensure that the company adheres to the statutory and regulatory requirements

●Development of factory safe operating procedures and ensure implementation of the same

●Perform site risk assessment and make analysis that identifies and mitigates the risks in the work place. This includes conducting machine, process and environmental risk assessment

●Perform site induction to all new employees, contractors and new visitors and provide awareness for the company’s requirements while on site.

●To ensure that employees annual medical assessment is conducted. This ensures that the employees’ wellbeing is monitored.

●Establish and maintain a strong HSE culture in the organization.

●Liaise with the regional office and ensure existing and new HSE programs are implemented

●Conduct internal HSE audits in each department and all the regional centres to ensure adherence to the company’s safety standards.

●Ensure implementation of process safety management, this includes performing the periodic hazard reviews on critical machine chemical storage areas.

●Perform induction on all new employees and visitors entering the factory.

●Perform risk assessment on factory machinery and at construction sites. This process would ensure that the employees are aware of the location specific hazards and mitigation measures put in place to avoid preventable incidences.

●Perform HSE related awareness training to employees

●In liaison with Chibombo fire brigade, fire drills were arranged to ensure that management and employees are alert in case of emergency and steps to take during that period.

●Monitor quality of the raw materials and finished goods by conducting experiments on the raw materials and carry out tests on the finished products.

●To ensure all process parameters during production are well controlled and monitor the production consumables that directly affects the quality of our products.

●To attend to customer complaints and reduce on customer returns. Do customer visitations and ensure customers are well educated on good handling of our products.

●Provide information and assistance on all relevant aspects of health, safety and environmental issues with the objective of ensuring the adoption of safe working practice within the company.

●To ensure that safety induction training and any further training requirements are carried out as and when required.
