My most recent employer has been MIC group based out of brenham tx. I was recruited by them to see if I could once again help them out. 3 years later, and a business downturn and poor management has almost crippled the company. In effort to save money and compete in the market, they cut workforce. Almost 16 years in total running manual lathes, mills, him, and ram and wire edm.. 13 years running long parts with multiple centerlines using two four jaw chucks, to taper attachments and API taper thread connections.

Briefly before my second stint at mic group, I worked for metrix instrument where we manufactured super sensitive vibration detection devices used in all sorts of industries on large, spinning or moving engines, turbos, empellors etc.. ‘I did quit employment with them because my son was entering high school and really needed his dad around... before thAt, I worked for Mirage Subsea and machine rental where we serviced portable machine tools as well as new tool development. Also were occasionally sent to do field service work

Feb2013- 2015

Mirage Subsea is in cypress and we sold and serviced portable machine tools ie.line boring, flange facing machines, diamond wire saws and many special machines that we would manufacture to our customers specifications. mostly for subsea applications but not all. I was recruited by Mirage and they had an excellent benefits package. I left my job in deer park texas and went to work for mirage until i was laid off on march 2, 2015

Resource Power Group employed me between Jan 2013 til my departure March 2014 . They are owned by Louisiana machinery which is a large supplier of caterpillar and MAK slow speed diesel engines. Our customer base is large container vessels and oil tankers that cruise the gulf and Caribbean sea. I was their primary machinist/fabricator/go to guy In case of a problem. This position has allowed me the opportunity to do on-site machine work on these massive diesel engines. Using special machines, I can do engine head repair, grind valve seats, grind valves, face the entire head flat back to spec, among many other operations that don't need to leave the boat to do. if it does leave the boat, I am the only machinist to do the repair for this company. At the shop I have 2 manual lathes, one horizontal boring mill and one Bridgeport type milling machine along with grinders, welders, saws, presses I have been doing manual machining for my entire career so about 22 years now.
