Ship management company establish in Singapore and now having offices in Singapore, Qatar & Karachi and provide the one window ship management solutions to ship owners. My basic responsibilities are as under:

Manager Finance (Karachi office):

Overseeing the account departments of 17 different companies both from Karachi to Singapore. My responsibility is to submit daily, monthly, and quarterly financial reports to management and keep the financial statements ready to present to the Board of Directors, stakeholders, executives, and clients in formal meetings

Devise and maintain internal controls sufficient to provide transactions are executed in accordance with management authorization, recorded, maintain accountability in conformity of IFRS.

Senior Corporate Accountant cum project Financial Controller (Offshore Division)

Main achievements

Over 8 years in the Asia Pacific, I was responsible for the financial affairs of the offshore division, my main responsibility as a management accountant to submit the monthly position to the divisional team in Glasgow. I worked closely with GM and the operational team to provide in close activities and full analysis. I was also responsible to upload all monthly data to HFM and adjustments in HFM as and when needed.

Worked with Glasgow to develop and provide weekly cash flows and forecasting for group cash hedging.

In addition, design, Implement and deploy our shared services team working in the Mumbai office. This was the biggest project in V.Group to create a shared services team of around 400 support staff to conduct daily financial activities for over 78 group companies and provide efficient and effective reporting to group level. I was involved within Asia Pacific region to documents the process of team in Singapore, Manila & Chennai office, and trained the team leaders to transfers procedures. This team comprises of Finance & Accounting (F&A) function comprises three end-to-end processes – Procure-to-Pay (P2P), Order-to-Cash (O2C), and Record-to-Report (R2R).

Additionally, responsible for implementing, directing and overseeing the auditing and compliance programs. Financial Controller responsibilities.

As project financial controller, I was handled multi million dollars projects and responsible to key areas such as, creating Charts of accounts, and trial balance, issuing invoices, cash flow management and maintain ledgers for all financial transactions of the project.

With no experiences and system, I have implemented, run and transfer the project accounting procedures and system in place in order to provide a monthly report, cash flows and % of completion or Grant Charts.

Other responsibilities;

Month reporting – lead schedules for Gross Margin at month end. Prepare backlog and aged receivables reports;

Revenue recognition – process forecast updates and maintains accuracy of forecast control checks and reconciliation to accounting system records at all times;

Client Invoicing – process all invoicing to clients in an accurate and timely manner;

Job management – set up and closure of all jobs in Shipsure;

WIP review – monthly review of all project costs with the objective of invoicing costs as early as possible and reducing the risk of non-billing/ non-recovery;

Key performance indicator (KPI) – ensuring all the above tasks are conducted accordingly.
