Designed, verified and tested engineering and production trial PCBs for advanced HDTV front end, AGC and interfacing circuitry for tuner and ATSC/NTSC Demodulator.

Designed and tested the first Cable Card for unidirectional TV (including RF front-end with Out-Of-Band Tuner and QPSK Demodulator). Responsibilities also included certification test for Cable Card at Cable Lab. Also performed all the Unidirectional testing and preparing all the certification documents for in house testing.

Designed, verified and tested front-end of the Tru2Way bi-directional TV using Out-Of-Band Silicon Tuner.

Successful implementation of the Silicon Tuner on board for the first time. Responsibilities included design and testing of the on board tuner. Worked very closely on layout with PCB designer giving them all the necessary instructions.

Performed all the necessary testing for the ATSC/NTSC to meet the guidelines for A/74 and SCTE for Cable.

Performed field test at different locations for ATSC/8VSB testing of the front-end sensitivity and the multipath to insure that the products had the best reception even in a very harsh environment. Also performed field test for cable/QAM 64 and QAM256 at different Cable Companies.

Created a new procedure for measuring Noise Figure for Low IF to generate 44MHz IF to use the existing Noise Figure equipments. This procedure was implemented by QA department and at production.

Production support at TV factory in Mexico, training for Field Quality team. Worked closely with chip vendors and software design team during bring-up process.

Generated schematics and Bill of Material for the design using Zuken schematics capture.

Responsibilities included converting one of the boards used in HDTV into all RoHS compliant parts. TECTRIX FITNESS EQUIPMENT - Irvine, California 6/1997 to 9/1999 SENIOR ELECTRICAL ENGINEER

Assumed and managed all projects, including engineering responsibilities and collaboration with vendors to qualify new handgrips used on the fitness equipment to reduce not only the noise level, but the cost also. Other duties included designing a new circuit for Heart Beat Monitoring (HRM) system making it more sensitive for human presence detection.

Automating a new testing of the grips and HRM circuitry using Lab View software for the production use. Utilizing PAD Logic for schematic capture and PADS power for printed circuit board layout. Well-versed with intusoft Spice for circuit analysis.

CIRCON CORPORATION – Santa Barbara, California 8/1993 to 4/1997 Senior Electronic Design Engineer

Responsibilities included the successful completion of the BICAP project, an ELECTROSURGICAL UNIT used in the medical industry for lower and upper GI, hemorrhoidal and other procedures.

The technical aspect of the project entailed my direct design of all the circuitry in the unit from the amplifier, linear power supply, the oscillator circuitry, output transformers and filter design.

Implemented and oversaw important logistics, including the organization and scheduling of all necessary meetings and insuring that the project was met internationally and domestically.

Direct interfacing with marketing, manufacturing and all departments involved in the project.

Responsible for building the prototypes, testing, generating the required engineering and manufacturing documentations.

Led a similar project team for the ELECTROHYDRAULIC LITHOTRIPTER, an ELECTROSURGICAL UNIT used in lithotripsy operations. Managed complete overview of the project, which included modification of the circuitry of an existing unit to minimize patient risk current and thus a safer unit.
