Operated Mazak, Okuma, and Mori Seiki vertical and Mazak horizontal machining centers. Okuma lathe and a Brown and Sharp Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM). I am responsible for loading parts onto various fixturing, changing a variety of end mills, drills, and center drills. I check parts with micrometers, pin gages, and go/no-go gages. Each part is 100% inspected by the CMM. At Integrity we machine high-performance alloy, mainly Rene, used in aerospace applications. Their customers include G.E., Pratt Whitney, and Rolls Royce.

Multiple Titles throughout career (See below)
1995-2017
Machine Technician- I have operated Waldrich-Colburg portal machines, with a Siemens 840C control since 2012, machining engine blocks weighing in excess of 22,000 pounds. These machines mill, bore, drill, ream, and tap. I was responsible for interacting with the control, change and run down tooling, and gauging features on the block. Gauging involved micrometers, depth micrometers, dial bore gauges, go/no-go plug and thread gauges. I also ran a Burkhardt Weber trunion machine, where I roughed and finished milled, bored and tapped engine blocks as well as installed bearing caps and pistons sleeves. I was frequently asked to float from operation to operation, running different machines and the robot at the wash booth, which I did fluently and with ease. I performed rework when needed, helped maintenance troubleshoot when asked and set up and ran down new tooling. I worked for two years in the Toyoda Cell, running machine centers, machining cylinder heads, bearing caps, and mounting feet for the 3600 engines. I was responsible for setting up or changing out over 400 tools between four machines. This was a very fast
paced job, working in a cell environment with several different people in a two year time frame.
Certification Coordinator- I was been quality coordinator for the 3600 block and rod line beginning in May of 2008. I am the owner of the quality business plan for these two lines. I was the spokesperson who represented either line when audited by the internal auditor and the external auditors. I scheduled and facilitated meetings for both lines. I was responsible for presenting weekly, monthly and quarterly meetings to the commodity managers, the engineering and the maintenance groups and also the team members of the above mentioned machine lines. I reviewed CMM checks on a daily basis and issue deviations to material when needed. I tracked all scrap and rework for the lines and was responsible for issuing the non conformance material number to move scrap material either out for the building or to return in back to the founder supplier. I have experience creating spreadsheets, Pareto charts, bar graphs and other visual aides to track all defective material. I interacted with the supplier development engineer when confronted with supplier defects and the senior design characteristics. These features are downloaded from the CMM results into Infinity software which produces scatter plots and X-bar/R charts. I have the ability to change direction and multi-task in a moments notice, this job is all about putting out fires and being able to identify which jobs are smoldering and the ones that take priority. With my previous experience I am well rounded to fit into any position in the machine shop.
Leadman- I was previously the Leadman for the 3600 block line in machine shop. I started in this position in 2006. I assist with daily production issues and people issues. I act as a liaison between the employees and supervisors. I would fill in for the supervisor when needed and run production on machines in the absence of the machine technician. I worked closely with the 3600 assembly supervisor to coordinate prompt delivery of product. I troubleshoot machines and machine related issues and assist the technician or maintenance when necessary. I have very good written and oral skills when relaying information at shift change. I kept 3600 assembly, machine shop, the expeditors, and technicians informed on a daily basis to determine whether or not we can release our commodity to our customer. I worked 3rd shift, so I monitored my email throughout the day to assist when I could, if the need arose, whether it be with 3600 block line issues or assembly issues. Quality- I ran multiple Coordinate Measuring Machines, (CMM), for two years. I inspected numerous engine parts for the machine shop and relayed pertinent information on to the machine technicians and the machine line certification coordinators. The software used was the VAX system, which later updated to PC_DMIS. I was able to interrupt many different CMM reports from a vast array of machine parts produced within the machine shop. I was also responsible for area housekeeping and weekly calibration of gauging for our department. Johnsons Precision Machine Shop/Kirby Risk, Lafayette, IN. Leadman
1988-1995
My responsibilities in the lathe department included writing programs, set up machines, training new employees, perform 1E2500 checks on various parts associated with Caterpillar and scheduled product for the machines. I performed my own maintenance work, mechanical, electrical and welding. I would assist in setting up new lathes, level and perform rundown on new equipment before we would turn it over for production. I would also submit job bids for companies such as Caterpillar, Fairfield, Rea Wire, as well as John Deere. Communication skills were key when having to communicate with tooling reps and perform tooling test on various types of inserts, drills and multiple tool holders. I owned and maintained my own gauging equipment such as 0-1 thru 5-6 O.D. micrometers, depth micrometers, thread gauges, dial indicators, calipers, etc. I would set up dial bore gauges and maintained them as well.
