Professional Summary

I have been with Martin Marietta since 1997. Over the past 21 years with this company I’ve held many different positions. Currently I’m the Secondary Plant Operator. In this position I make sure the plant runs smoothly and control how the product is made. I also control the wash product production. Producing Aggregate products for commercial use, but safety on the job site is my main goal.

Skills

Over the years I’ve done my best to learn every job I could and get good at them. I was the night shift MSHA Miners Representative, Union Steward, and have been on many Safety Teams. I’m a very safety-oriented person. I was also the night shift go to guy. I’ve completed Blue Card Training. I also was asked to become a trainer on many different pieces of equipment. Such as 771 Cat haul truck, Loaders 980g, 980k,988 f&k, Kawasaki 115Z4, 95Z4. I try to demonstrate good communication, trouble shooting skills and I am also good at motivating people. I felt it necessary that all employees know the difference between a near miss and an observation that I made a card with this on it and made sure all employees were given one.

Communi cation

I have good communication skills. I have given Tail Gate meetings. I’m interactive during meeting with asking questions and communicating on safety issues. I’ve given Power Point presentations, but prefer to be on the ground, hands on pushing safety and making sure people are a top priority.

Leadership

Lead by example. Push yourself and people will follow your lead. I was in the past a US Army active duty squad leader, National Guard track commander, National Guard Scout. In 1990 I was in the running for Nebraska’s National Guard Soldier of the year. Leader in leadership training courses. Received 3 Army achievement medals, 3 Army accommodation medals. A honorable discharge, I continue to give 100% and if I don’t know something I’ll ask. When doing a project I like to have things done right the first time instead of trying a quick fix. It’s better in the long run for the company and saves on money.
