After graduating in 2013 with Bsc Honors in Geology and Mathematics at the University of Johannesburg, I have acquired 8 years experience in mining industry as a senior mine geologist in the Bushveld complex. I would like to contribute more in the industry as a whole not only geology but all other affected stakeholders in the industry in terms of improving the systems and standards. I have gained exploration skills, leadership, sampling, mapping, grade control, co-ordination, mentoring and data analysis skills. Gaining more experience in management roles, resource estimation and understanding in detail the functions in the processing of ore. My short term goals would be to learn and familiarize myself with the role as a geologist, interacting with the other stakeholders, whereas my long term goals would be to make a huge contribution and improve the systems in the industry through technological instruments. Main duties and activities

· Assisting the Mine Manager in control, management and direction of the mine

· Ensure compliance with the provision of the MHSA.

· Instructions, policies and procedures amendments as well as implementations for healthy and safety compliance

· Management of the mining operation ensuring that pit manager, foreman, supervisors, operators and other employees carry out their functions in accordance with the MHSA Regulations and Mineral Act Regulations

· Enforcement of zero harm and ensuring occupational health, safety and environment

(OHSE).

· Full authority to make sure the duties are carried in a safe manner and comply with the MHSA regulations

· Pit visits and compliance reports as well as holding safety talks with the employees to discuss safety issues prior to shift starts.

· Ensure environmental regulations compliance within the mining area of responsibility Conducting audits on safety and production performances

· Oversee and co ordinate the day to day technical geological operations including; pit monitoring, mapping of all geological features and plotting data into the 1:2500 maps, updating the pit plan, sample analysis, data storage and update, core logging and safe handling of core data at the core shade.

· Compilation of the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for each task done in geology department not limited to sampling, sample preparations etc.

· Preforming administration and reporting (daily, monthly and quarterly). Data records storage and capturing, keeping them safe for when needed.

· Compiling of well written geological and evaluation reports, communicating with relevant stakeholders.

· Based on the operation demands, improving and developing new systems that will enable high compliance to industry reporting standards.

Work experience

· Providing technical and professional assistance to the Mining team and Executive personnel in terms of the reef advancement along strike. Analyzing grade concentration from drill cores and advice on how and when to mine the high grade ore.

· Surface exploration management activity (data attainment and data management.

· Ensuring proper housekeeping during and after operations, making sure that all sampling, mapping, laboratory gear is kept as per the SOP.

· Mapping co ordination, cover drilling activities, core logging and data capture. Management of sampling activities, process data and issuing of the results reports explaining the findings.

· Liaison with the plant on availability of quality ROM from the pit to the plant, giving all the forecast of the grade, volume and from which reef.

· Management of ROM BAYs including floor check, berms, and signage boards are up to date.

· Hazards identification and reporting (risk assessment)

· Marking of structural geological features (IRUP’s, Dykes, faults, kinks and turns)

· Training, coaching and mentoring of interns/ junior staff within the department, helping them shape their careers, editing their reports, supervising their projects and giving guidance.

· Monitoring productivity, submitting performance reports to management

· Basic experience QA/QC, data analysis and validation

· Monthly update of geological models, generation of isopach plans and contours

· Demonstrated relationship management skills, interaction with stakeholders and gained co operation skills

· Strong computer skills, Microsoft excel, outlook, word and PowerPoint.

· Attending planning meetings, discuss a safe approach to the next advancement stope, adhering to safe work practices.

· Exploration for new ore reserves, development (green field) and advancement new pit, SAMREC reporting whereby updated the resource for the new pit as a (Project manager)

· Conducted geostatistical analysis for different batches of grades in conjunction with borehole analysis and grade distribution
