2019 AUG-2019 NOV (NANDI HILLS TEA FACTORY)
Conduct a topographical survey and perfom a spatial plan using Nandi land use map using Civil 3D, G.I. S, Dnr garming and Microsoft software’s. A kolida RtK and a hand held Gps were used during the exercise. The purpose for this exercise was to provide essential information for future project plans.
ASSIGNMENT / TASK
Carry out medium and high topographical survey indicating artificial and natural features.
Produce a georeferenced plan map showing reserved natural features (i.e. lake, quarry and swamp).
RESPONSIBILITIES
setting up and connecting the base rover receiver to the receiver rover antenna on clear overview site.
Established horizontal and vertical control that will serve as the framework of the survey.
Determined enough horizontal location and elevation (usually spot heights) of ground points to provide enough data for plotting when the map is prepared
Located natural and man-made features that may be required by the purpose of the survey.

Georeferencing large natural features including quarry, lake and swamp using Nandi land use map.
DUTIES
Collect analyze and display geographical data with G.I.S and modify using northing andeasting grid.

Mark artificial monuments (controls points) corresponding to both ground, land use and PDP scheme plans.

2019 JAN-2019 FEB (KIAMBU/KITISURU)
Conducted a re-establishment and topographical survey on a fixed boundary for the purpose of site construction. A total station was used to set out and collect spot height while data was processed and presented using Civil 3D, AutoCAD and Microsoft office software’s.
ASSIGNMENT / TASK
Conduct a ray trace traverse in order to align the property boundary clearly showing the road reserve.
Conduct a re-survey and topographical survey.
Provide a re-establishment scheme plan and a topographical map for grading and infrastructure development.
RESPONSIBILITY

Conduct a ray trace and make each straight section of the traverse as long as possible.

2018 SEPT-2018 NOV (RUIRU 1713 /BLOCK2)
Performed differential levelling for the purpose of grading and infrastructure development. A dumpy level was used to conduct the objectives and results handled to the project engineer.
ASSIGNMENT / TASK
Operate a dumpy level and record elevation observations for grading.
Produce a field book clearly showing method used (Rise and fall method).
calculate the arithmetic checks.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Working with the project manager in order to implement design and research as instructed.
Prepare the procedure process with guideline from development scheme plans, deed planform plans or Registry index map.
Assist the engineer in the inspection and adjusting of surveying instruments in order to maintain their accuracy.
Provide technical support by setting up the machine equipment’s and monitoring of data collection in accordance to control points (benchmark) and provided scheme plans.

Search legal records, land use map, survey records, and land titles for either general or fixed boundary survey in order to obtain information about property boundaries in areas to be survey.
Perform a variety of mathematical calculations to determine measurements in angles, coordinates and height slopes on land by using tape, Gps, Total station, dumpy or Rtk.
Using CAD and G.I.S programs to delineate, digitize and label boundaries and Reference Points by making monuments or control points for final results for future reference and guidelines.
Presenting data and information by providing schemes plans and written reports containing all the necessary information to establish legal boundaries and support development activities or lease or transfer of land parcel.
Link geographical data with data pertaining to a particular specialty such as constitution act laws, environment, health and politics.
