JOB DESCRIPTIONS:
TAWAM HOSPITAL, AL AIN HOSPITAL AND KAMC HOSPITAL
• Operates MDCT machine which has the ability to do routine and special procedure such as Cardiac, all Angiograms, Trauma, Brain perfusion, 3D reconstruction and reformation, Dental CT scan with MPR, MIP.
• Perform cardiac CT-scan for the assessment of the coronary arteries and anatomy in patients with suspected cardiac disease.
• Competent in doing all angiograms for major blood vessels of brain- perfusion, head and neck for stroke protocol, chest for dissection + Abdo/pelvis, and extremities to assess and plan the treatments such as stent insertions and others.
• Perform Pulmonary Embolism (PE) to undergo investigation of the arteries supplying the lungs and helps to identify blood clots.
• Perform CT Colonography to look for polyps or cancers in the colon or rectum and other bowel conditions.
• Perform trauma protocol from head to foot.
• Certified for IV Cannulation Competency.
• Responsible for preparing and administer iv contrast upon the order of the radiologist.
• Ability to review the images, detect abnormalities to whether additional images required and discuss further with the radiologist.
• Organize the CT room before starting the procedure; prepare medical supplies, medicine for allergies and contrast media
• Position and scan the patients, administers oral contrast, operates CT machines in an appropriate manner, while observing proper radiation protection procedures all the time.
• Responsible for daily Quality control tests on the CT scanners, and record results.
• Guidance for diagnostic and therapeutic interventions such as biopsies, drainage of collections, radiofrequency ablation, and aspiration.
• Maintains adequate supplies of all consumable in CT scanning, such as contrast media, tapes etc. reports any requirements to the senior Radiographer CT.
• Exercises care and expertise in operating the CT Scanning equipment always, follows recommended operating procedures and utilizes optimum exposure parameters.
• Record all images, altered the density and brightness, changing plane of the image from axial, sagittal, coronal, producing 3D images and record it on film with laser camera or send it to (Picture Archiving and Communication System)PACS.
• Applies appropriate immobilization devices and support apparatus as are available and indicated.
• Performs routine MRI procedures.
• Attend the training for operating Positron Emission Tomography Machine.
• Measure the concentration of Radioactive Isotopes in specific body area.

JOB DESCRIPTIONS: CT SCAN
• Perform routine plain and contrast CT-Scan from head to foot and special procedures requiring computer reformation, and insert IV line for injection of Contrast media.
• Performing different plane scan of the body such as coronal, axial sagittal Studies of the head to foot and other special procedures.
• Assist the radiologist in performing interventional examination including neck, liver, chest, and other biopsies.
• Provide good quality contrast of image for auto filming and arrange for radiologist interpretation.
• Performs all procedures in ultrasound such as abdominal, obstetrics, transvaginal, prostate and other procedures.
• Give proper preparation to the patient.
• Apply the ten-day rule before the examination for non-menopausal patient.
• Protects patients by giving advice from unnecessary radiation during exposure and giving them complete radiation protection.
• Measure the body thickness, tube distance to the part being examined and calculate the dose of radiation to be given.
