Eagle Ford use a 109 system for checking in used vehicle, to ensure that when a used vehicle is sold, the customer will have a fully updated report of the vehicle. This was done on Auto-Mate in-house system. Auto-Mate is also the product that I was part of testing the software before this was distributed to the customer.

I was responsible for Vehicle bookings and updates for services:

●The bookings gets recorded and is then loaded onto a BSI system that is used across the Motor Industry for Quality Control of calls and customer Services.

●Create a quote for any extra work to be done on a vehicle. Call the customer for authorization on quotes that was done from the report from the Technician.

●Update the customer of all the repairs that will be done and should be done, but only do so when the customer has confirm a quote for the parts and work to be done.

●Costing and Invoicing of job cards that have been completed on a daily basis.

●Complete DOC (Daily Operation Control) report for the workshop on daily parts and hours that were completed.

Auto-mate provides world class computerised management services to the South African automotive industry.

●I worked with a team of 4 testers and 6 developers responsible for new software releases. The development environment utilized was Progress, some of it in the Linux environment.

●I was also a member of the organisational group that ensured that the company policy conformed to the Government’s requirements for skills and development, as set by the Sector Education and Training Authority (SETA).

Main Job Responsibilities:

Configuration management functions:

●Performance testing is done before any changes can be listed and documented.

●Tested new systems against operational processes, carried out on a test server.

●Produced documentation of all new changes to the previous programs, as required by the developmental team.

●Software release notes made for those changes were downloaded to a central point for internal use and for the client to view, before any new program change could be loaded.

●Assisted team members and programmers by resolving their queries. These queries will then be dealt with in program changes requested by the client and tested before any changes are made by the programmer.

●Interacted with the client business where necessary to establish the correct implementation of business processes.

●Communicated with team leader (Support and Development) where deadlines were in question so as to promptly to resolve queries and issues.

●Co-ordinated internal training tasks for all new employees. Ensured training was appropriate and contained required elements. Collated initial training feedback forms and again one month after system was updated.

●Improved training materials by analysing initial feedback against subsequent changes. Updated the training manuals and this was also then downloaded on the Knowledge base central point for future reference.

●Responsible for quality assurance testing of new releases, followed by a full system test of all changes.

●Liaised with clients during pilot releases to ensure that the system changes met the client’s requirements.
