Adept at managing projects remotely across the US with ownership and consulting teams dispersed around the world.

CAREER HISTORY

JRM Construction Management, Senior Project Manager, November 2019-April 2020

Oversaw and managed the expansion of JRM CM services into new markets outside of New York City including Nashville, Washington DC, Northern VA, and Boston. Developed new subcontractor base, client development, developed checklist for CM rules in each area, completed site investigations, pre-construction, estimating and bidding. Due to COVID-19 pandemic, JRM eliminated the expansion initiative, thus I was laid off effective March 31, 2020.

PEAK/Great Eagle, Project Director East Coast, March 2015-November 2019

Directed and managed hotel projects and staff in Toronto, New York City, Washington DC and Boston with a total value of over $250 million. Oversight spanned pre-construction, design, construction and post-construction phases. Coordinated owner’s international team, city entities, designers, consultants, contractors, purchasing, and hotel operators.

Eaton Workshop: Directed the first Eaton lifestyle hotel that includes a 209 room-175,000 sf hotel, 22,000 sf co-working building, event spaces, restaurants, cafés, music venue, radio station, cinema, wellness center, storm water retention, roofs, exteriors, and MEP infrastructure. This $70 million project involved the complete rehabilitation and repurposing of the original buildings. The project located in the heart of Washington DC was LEED Gold certified, one of Time Magazine 2019 Great Places to visit and ENR’s 2019 Best Residential Hospitality Projects.

Boston Langham Hotel: Directed 225,000SF, $130 million hotel renovations including:

Renovations to Boston’s historic Langham Hotel that included 312 guestrooms, lobby, club lounge, public areas, ballrooms, restaurants, bars, MEP plant and exterior renovations.

NYC Langham Hotel: Directed renovations at the New York City Langham Hotel located at 37th and 5th Ave NYC: Renovations of 256 guestrooms, corridors and public spaces. Redevelopment of 7 guest floors to create 26 additional suites and guestrooms. Conversion of 3rd and 4th floors of the hotel to event, offices, gym and spa functions.

Shaner Hotel Corporation, Vice President CDFMG – October 2007 to January 2015

Directed and managed staff to develop and maintain portfolio of 35 hotels and commercial properties along the East Coast of the US. As a member of the Executive Committee, contributed to the strategic planning related to expansion, management, operations and maintenance of the corporate portfolio.

New Construction: Directed and managed over $100 million of new construction in 7 years. Responsible for all aspects of the development from site investigation, due diligence, design, estimating, scheduling, permitting, construction, opening and continued maintenance of the hotels.

Renovations: Directed and managed over $50 million in renovation projects for full service and limited service Marriott’s, Crown Plaza, Holiday Inn, and non-branded hotels. Negotiated and developed the PIP’s, prepared preliminary and final budgets, schedules, purchasing, design, construction, reopening and continued maintenance of the properties.

Capital Improvements: Directed and managed yearly capital of $4-$5 million per year. Projects included roofs, boilers, HVAC, elevator modernizations, building exteriors, fire alarm, sprinkler systems and site improvements.

Facilities Management: Directed the maintenance of a diverse hotel portfolio that varied by size, age and location. Developed and established corporate Standard Operating Procedures for all property maintenance, inspections, building systems and engineering staff. Responsible for the purchase and contract management of all utilities at an average annual cost of $6 million.

Global Project Services Inc., Project Manager/Owner Representative – June 2006 to October 2007

Consultant to – Sanofi Pasteur – oversaw the site development program at the 600 acre pharmaceutical campus in Swiftwater PA. Managed architects, engineers, consultants, and contractors, development of site standards, master planning and implementation of various site improvements and projects. Projects included a lab renovation, site development and expansion, grey water disbursement, parking expansion, security improvements, and landscaping.

Mistick Construction Inc., Construction Manager – June 2004 to June 2006

Construction Manager for various construction projects. Negotiated owner contract, design review, permitting, estimating, scheduling, change order management, application for payments, subcontractor buyout and coordination, Section III program management, LEED certification documentation, and day to day project management.

Ohioview Acres Project: Project Manager on a $30 million, Hope VI housing project that included the redevelopment of an existing 23 acre site. The project included demolition of previous low-income housing, construction of all new roads, utilities, storm detention systems, landscaping, construction of 215 homes, and 15,000 square foot community center. This project was completed six months ahead of schedule and under budget. This project received the BELLEMY Award for its Section III Initiative from PAHRA.

KCI Technologies; Owners Representative, Project Manager – May 1998 to June 2004

Project Manager for various KCI owner representative contracts.

University of Maryland Medical System: For 4 years was one of the Owners Representatives on the UMMS Weinberg Building Project, a seven story, 450,000 square foot medical facility that included over 100,000 square feet of renovations. Responsibilities included all adjacencies, connections and enabling projects between the main project and adjoining hospital facilities. The Weinberg Building connected to the existing hospitals in over 20 locations including the Shock Trauma, NICU, PICU, labor & delivery, psych ward, radiology and other critical care facilities. Enabling projects included a new “Central Sterile Processing”, “Ambulance Dispatch Facility (ExpressCare)”, “Shock Trauma Ambulance Entrance” and many other high profile and complex projects.

Arcadia Hills Hope VI: Negotiated and managed Phase I of a $28 million Hope VI project along with the developer and the Greenville Housing Authority. Project included construction of all new site infrastructures on a 25 acres site, construction of 220 new homes and light commercial buildings.

Law Engineering & Environmental Services Inc., Engineer in Training – May 1996 to May 1998

Completed facility and environmental property condition surveys and Phase I environmental assessments. Completed designs and construction administration services for structural, roof and façade rehabilitation projects.

Omni Shoreham Hotel Restoration Project: Omni Shoreham Hotel is an 80+ year-old Washington DC landmark. This project included repairs to the 11-story brick and concrete structure, including brick replacement and re-pointing, architectural limestone, balconies, retaining walls, various roofs and existing 3 level concrete garage structure. Duties included destructive investigations, development of repair design and guidelines, bid administration, contract negotiations, construction administration and inspection.

Baltimore Public Schools: Assisted on numerous roof evaluations, recommendations, designs, contract bidding, administration and inspections for Baltimore Public Schools.
