Summary of

Qualifications: 35 years of providing exceptional legal assistant/paralegal and administrative support.

● Extensive experience working in firms handling defense work for medical malpractice cases; as well as working in a staff counsel insurance defense program; and private practice firm, that dealt with insurance defense litigation, products liability, subrogation, family law, and collections.

● Strong communication skills with the ability to deal efficiently with attorneys, fellow staff/team members, clients, adjusters, and opposing counsel.

● Management of multiple attorney calendars, along with handling any travel for same when needed.

● Knowledge of the Florida Rules of Court, Florida Statutes, and legal/medical terminology.

● Providing quality client services with continued trust, confidence and patronage.

● Work with attorneys to ensure that expert packages are sent to pre-suit experts in a timely manner. Will maintain expert folders for all experts both in pre-suit and litigation and will maintain an index of all materials sent to the experts for review. Also, research the Practitioner Profile Bank for all experts to ensure that that remain active and current with the State of Florida. Will maintain all necessary documentation to provide to adjuster for their review, prior to maintaining an expert.

● Extensive experience setting up files, drafting correspondences, as well as pleadings and working with the attorney and the client when needed to respond to discovery requests. Drafting of expert disclosure, along with witness and exhibit disclosures in preparation for trial. Will review and redact necessary documentation.

● Obtain medical and hospital records, employment, prescription, educational, insurance records, rehabilitation records; along with Social Security/Medicare/Medicaid/Disability/IRS records, as well as various other records via non-party production and summarize records as needed or requested by attorney. Maintain an index as to same to keep track of records received (both in pre-suit and litigation). Review records to identify any additional parties to subpoena for records, and will make recommendations to attorney(s) as those who may be pertinent to set for deposition based upon the review of the records.

● Experts will continually be updated with materials received via non-party production for their review.

● Will be bookmark and make records searchable for easier accessibility when looking for pertinent information regarding the Plaintiff

(patient).

● Preparation of medical chronologies as needed, or if attorney specifically requests a chronology on certain issues related to the case.

● Maintain radiology/imaging indexes.

● Familiar with Lexis in order to perform background checks. Additionally, will perform social media background checks.

● Assist attorney(s) in preparing cases for trial, and attendance at same when necessary; and if client is agreeable will attend trial with attorney(s). Familiar with meeting with trial prep agencies to prepare blow-ups and equipment needed to be used during trial. Will coordinate with experts and witnesses who are needed to testify at trial.

● Experience in attendance at jury selection and researching potential jurors for attorney(s) review.

● Extensive experience filing via the e-portal system.

● Direct and extensive contact with clients/insurance carrier (adjuster), court personnel, opposing counsel both Plaintiff and Co-Defendants, mediators, adjusters, treating physicians, hospital personnel, experts, process servers, surveillance agencies, court reporters, and various vendors as needed.

● Familiar with the following computer applications: Microsoft Word/Works/Outlook; Word Perfect for Windows; Corel for Windows; Client Profiles (ATO).
