Overview

Westpac is one of the leading bank in Australia with an history of 200+ years, had acquired few banks(Bank of Melbourne, St.George Bank of South Australia,Banker’s Trust Financial Institution and RAMS) in Australia. Westpac maintains centralized Datawarehouse for the data retrieved from the different source systems in heterogeneous forms. Initially it has chosen Teradata 14.0 as the database and upgraded to the version 16.0 later point of time.

As a solution to handle huge data, implemented the hadoop with Hortonworks Distributed Platform (HDP). At source end, HDFS and SQOOP are used to extract the data and PIG to load into intermediate stage tables. As a target, data loaded to HIVE tables. Datastax Cassandra is chosen as NoSQL databases to integrate with HIVE and then data is allowed for reporting.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for developing, support and maintenance for the ETL(Extract, Transform and Load) processes using Informatica PowerCenter(9.x)Worked on mappings, mapplets and workflow to meet the business needs ensured they are reusable transformation to avoid duplications.

Worked with several facets of the Informatica PowerCenter tool Source Analyzer, Data Warehousing Designer, Mapping & Mapplet Designer and Transformation Designer. Development of Informatica mappings for better performance.

Responsible for Performance Tuning at the Mapping Level, Session Level, Source Level and the Target Level for Slowly Changing Dimensions Type1, Type2 for Data Loads.

Strong practical experience in writing complex SQL queries, BTEQ scripts(Teradata Sql assistant), stored procedures.

Develop a test plan/design, execute test cases and defect management for ETL & BI(Tableau, Cognos) systems and to perform data validations after migration.

Develop test scripts using selenium for web applications and creating bulids in Jenkins for CI and CD.
