• Received a First-class mark in my BEng Individual research project on the mechanics of functionally graded honeycomb structures for space crafts.

• Elected as the Educational Representative for the school of Aerospace, Transport and Manufacturing

(SATM) at Cranfield University by the students in a competitive university wide election. In addition, was also elected as the course representative at Swansea University for the final two years of my BEng.

• Selected in the Cranfield University Team for the Concurrent Engineering ESA (European space agency) Challenge out of a class of 100.

• Awarded the best speaker award in my school wide elocution competition for the academic year 2011- 2012 for a speech on laughter.

MSc Astronautics and Space Engineering: Cranfield University, Cranfield, UK (October 2019- September 2020)

• Group Project: Space Safety- An active approach to Space debris removal and on-orbit servicing in a cost- efficient way in Sun Synchronous Orbit with a de-orbiting kit. In charge of the subsystems of Communications and On Board Data Handling. Calculated a detailed link budget and sized antennas, analysed ground station communication windows, generated a mass and power budget while selecting; tranponder, diplexers, transmitters, ground stations and the mechanical antenna architecture. Received an overall mark of 76% and an individual 50 page report mark of 77%, considered to be an extremely high mark. Feedback received of excellent understanding of the subsystem and the whole system engineering challenges, excellent report writing and referencing skills.

• Individual Research Project (Thesis): In collaboration with AIRBUS; Explore potential features for addition to the Lunar Gateway in efforts to aid Space Missions. Research Areas; autonomous docking, augmented and virtual reality for better delivery of assembly, installation, repair and maintenance guidance instructions to live onboard crew, remote control access to equipment on the gateway from ground stations and finally better inflatable technology for habitation and logistics outpost including waste management by waste to propellant conversion. Produced a report of 118 pages of writing, 160 references, 159 pages overall. BEng (Hons) Aerospace Engineering (First Class): Swansea University, Wales, United Kingdom (October 2016 – July 2019)

• Individual Project: Research on the mechanics of functionally graded honeycomb structures by varying different design aspects of the honeycomb and testing the sets of designs to understand structural property changes and exploring various parameters including the use in the industrial world. CAREER HISTORY

Cranfield University: England, United Kingdom – Cranfield Student Association Officer (CSA) as the Education Representative for the School of Aerospace, Transport and Manufacturing (SATM) (September 2019-Present)

A Higher Educational UK university which appoints successful candidates as CSA officers after a university-wide election. All students are eligible to vote, the role is for the singular position of all the courses under the bracket of SATM. The role was appointed after victory against the other candidate.

• Rescheduled exam timetables for the class of over 100 students, improving the study period efficiency leading to better exam preparation for the entire class. Additionally, reached out to several students in the class to factor in their vote on which timetable best suits them bringing the class together as a whole and improving the ability to connect and work with them.

• The biggest strengths in this role come from past rep experience with the help of which intelligent and practical solutions are presented in meetings with; the senate, council, education committee and CSA officer meetings. Ideas, thought processes and identification of the practical challenges by the candidate has been widely commended throughout in meetings by senior members of the university’s staff as well as fellow officers. Raising issues with an outlook onto the future has also been observed frequently.

• Led, Guided and co-ordinated with the course representatives (reps) of SATM helping them better function in their roles utilising previous experience as a course rep. Collaborated with the course reps to share information such as the LinkedIn Learning, a facility the university provides to help students learn free courses and attain certificates of completion, improving student awareness and benefiting them.

• Collaborated as a team member in the CSA officer union, working on various goals such as; organising the

‘international week’ at the university, promoting cycling safety on and off campus and help conduct live CSA episodes on Facebook. This teamwork with other officers helped increase awareness to bring an overall positive change for students.

• Identified the issue students face of loneliness on campus due to being limited to few languages and the lockdown. Further actions include a virtual disco event being organised by the CSA officers’ team. ESA-Concurrent Engineering Challenge: Cranfield University Team- Team member (November 2019) Engineering challenge to design a space fly-by mission to Saturn’s moon, Enceladus, emulating the Cassini spacecraft to investigate the plumes for proof of a global ocean. Part of the structural team to develop structures and materials to withstand E-ring particles and plumes.

• Experienced working in a Concurrent Engineering environment as part of the structural team learning industry level ways of working and using powerful tools such as the Concorde programme in excel and Ansys structural analysis.

• Presented Cranfield team designs to other teams to showcase work

• Interacted and worked with university teams from KTH, ESA and Politecnico Di Milano to gain insights to improve team design.

Swansea University: Wales, United Kingdom – Course Representative for Aerospace Engineering

(September 2017- July 2019)

• Rescheduled 4 final exams during the course for a class of 120 students.

• Contributed towards the Board of Study meetings factoring in student viewpoints and bringing the student suggestions of how to further improve the course to the director of aerospace.

• Implemented speeches as part of the role by delivering 8 voluntary speeches to the class of 120 students. Improved engagement and visibility with class.

• Enhanced networking skills by successfully being elected twice in Second and Third-Year following nominations in those years only.

SKILLS, INTERESTS & EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

• Languages: Fluent English, Fluent Hindi, with a basic understanding of Marathi, Sanskrit & Swahili.

• IT Skills: Confident IT user. Experienced in Solid works, MATLAB and Ansys with basic training of STK, Nastran, Patran and Catia v5. Additionally, have developed skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint throughout many years.

• Individual Interests: Theatre performer, participated in the shoreline theatre’s show acting out a monologue titled ‘Dr Strange love’. Have performed in school plays and drama events. A highly skilled chess player ranking up to 1465 at a peak period. Cinematography enthusiast having worked on two short films on YouTube with peers each short film gathering more than 200 views. Self-produced YouTube videos totalling of more than 500 views. A regular badminton player and swimmer.
