• Primary duties included the supervision and guidance in the areas of financial reporting and analysis. Scope of work included policy development, internal controls, general accounting, fund accounting, budgeting and forecasting. Financial investment accounting and audit oversight for joint ventures owned by the Hopkins Institutions. Assets under management more than $95 million

• Served as a Treasurer on the Board of Directors for Dome Corporation (for profit), FSK Land Corporation

(not for profit) and Broadway Development Corporation (not for profit). Responsibilities also included determining the adequacy of management controls in compliance with FASB and GAAP. Additional duties included advising other department leaders and assisting them with budgeting and financial monitoring of the Hopkins owned entities.

• Supervised, coordinated and reviewed the consolidated financials of various joint ventures to assess accuracy, completeness and compliance in applying GAAP and current tax laws. Investments in real estate included property management, parking services, housekeeping and security services. Real estate properties supervised included 7 commercial buildings (office and lab space), parking management service

(8,500 permit/daily parkers) and housekeeping services for over 1.2 million sf. commercial local and non- local buildings.

• Coordinated and supervised the annual audit of the holding company’s real estate construction activities and its subsidiaries (annual revenue $90 million). In addition, provided accounting and asset management services overseeing facilities managed by the corporations.

• Provided the restructuring plan, analytical and technical support for the refinancing and underwriting of

$25 million in real estate loans converted to floating bonds which were supported by a letter of credit from a AAA financial institution. As a result, interest savings from the transaction was in excess of $2 million.

• Supervised the holding company and subsidiaries capital and revenue forecasts for the annual budget. Assisted and participated in the organizations long-term strategic planning.

• Directed and supervised the implementation of the accounting hardware and software conversion of the holding company, development/construction company and numerous limited partnerships. The conversion was completed within the time scheduled and under budget. GROUP ACCOUNTANT: September 1989 – August 1995(Johns Hopkins University-Dome & FSK Land Corp.)

• Prepared the monthly journal entries for the holding company and subsidiaries investments. Reconciled the accounts receivable, accounts payable and inter-company accounts for the month end consolidation and year end audit.

• Facilitated the short and long-term budgets of cash flow and profit(loss) of the consolidating companies.

• Supervised and prepared the holding company and subsidiaries capital and revenue forecasts for strategic planning.

• Drafted feasibility/profitability forecast on real estate ventures and start-up companies. SENIOR ACCOUNTANT: January 1987 – September 1989 (Alex. Brown Realty, Inc. - Baltimore, Md)

• Prepared and processed the annual and quarterly financial statements for real estate limited partnerships, in which the firm was a General Partner. Total portfolio consisted of 16, including office buildings and apartments, with a book value was $120 million.

• Prepared analytical and demographic feasibility reports in the underwriting department. Equity raised on real estate investments ranged from $2 -$50 million.

• Prepared cost analysis and budget reports to be used in the asset management and property management departments.

• Invested the partnerships working capital in various banking institutions to achieve maximum return.

• Prepared federal and state tax returns along with various other state filing requirements for the limited partnerships.

PROJECT ANALYST: January 1986 – January 1987 (Alex. Brown Realty, Inc. - Baltimore, Md)

• Communicated with property managers of the company’s investments in preparing analytical reports used to evaluate the status of the investments.
