Career Chronology

Construction BIM 3D Modeler November 2021 – Jan. 2021

Fortress BIM Services (Technipower) Tucson, AZ

Serve as a BIM Revit MEP Modeler (piping designer) for the SEP Bio-Solids Digester Facilities Project in San Francisco, California. Currently modeling piping systems to a LOD 400 (fabrication Level) and updated to As-Built Conditions. All modeling is performed in Revit 2019 using MEP Fabrication part exclusively. Model reviews using Navisworks.

Construction BIM 3D Modeler Sept. 2021 – November 2021

Brycon Construction Chandler, AZ

Served as a BIM Modeler (piping designer) at Intel’s Semiconductor Plant in Chandler, Arizona. As-building and designing pipe installations and routing for new construction and tool reconfigurations. Designing in AutoCAD Fabrication Revit, and AutoCAD MEP. Model reviews using Navisworks.

Construction BIM 3D Modeler February 2019 – May 2020

Contracted to Brycon Construction (Technipower) Chandler, AZ

Served as a BIM Modeler (piping designer) at Intel’s Semiconductor Plant in Chandler, Arizona. As-building and designing pipe installations and routing for new construction and tool reconfigurations. Designing in AutoCAD Fabrication Revit, and AutoCAD MEP. Model reviews using Navisworks.

Construction Piping Field Engineer Mechanical Designer October 2015 – October 2018

Bechtel National, Inc. Richland, WA

Served as Piping Field Engineer at WTP (Waste Treatment Plant) on Hanford Nuclear Reservation in Richland, Washington – specifically, the LAW (Low Active Waste Treatment Facility).

Finalize installation of facility piping systems and closing records regarding installation, testing, and configuration.

Conduct Pressure Testing of Piping and Tubing, which entails working with 3D Microstation Facility Model, interpreting Isometric drawings for pipefitter, and ordering additional commodities through Bechtel procurement system.

Create Field Changes for routing obstructions due to commodity clashes within the facility.

Senior Mechanical Piping Designer (contract) January 2015 – July 2015

ARES Corporation

Worked as a subcontractor for Tank Farms Engineering and oversaw all new piping and mechanical system designs for Hanford Waste Tank Farms.

Routed and designed piping systems for two-hundred (200) East Tank Farm AY, AN, and AP – collaborated with staff and engineers to create a quality design using 3D AutoCAD and Inventor parametric software and delivered fabrication drawings on or before the pre-established schedule date.

Designed a pipe routing system in proposed facilities through the utilization of 3D piping software (Microstation PlantSpace Piping and AutoCAD Plant) created from P&IDs and engineering input specifications.

Designer IV (Senior) July 2007 – December 2014

Energy Solutions, LLC

Managed piping and mechanical system designs for various national and international nuclear waste cleanup projects, including China’s Yuanjiang Westinghouse AP nuclear plants, which required additional pipe routing using AutoCAD and Microstation in 3D and the creation of 2D layout drawings.

Additional projects included one-hundred (100) ton cask containers for steam dryers for the Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station in Pennsylvania – design was achieved using Autodesk Inventor.

Cask material was stainless steel – two (2) inches thick with and four (4) inches thick outer container.

Container weighed approximately one-hundred and eighty (180) tons loaded – cask was later transported to an off-site waste facility.

Piping Designer December 1998 – July 2007

Bechtel National, Inc.

Modeled and designed piping system designs of a preliminary process facility (WTP), which pretreated nuclear waste into a characterized solution in order to make it safely transferable to off-site facilities – this waste was later encapsulated into a glass medium through a process called “Vitrification”.

Utilized PlantSpace Design Series (a 3D Microstation piping design software) for facility design.

Routed various piping systems throughout the facility and created isometric drawings for fabrication throughout plant construction – this was considered a “Close Coupling” design technique.

Performed model reviews for regulatory design teams.

Served as Construction and Piping Field Engineer and managed the implementation of Construction Work Packages (CWPs) for the low active waste facility in support of piping installations, which consisted of plans, sections, and section views from a 3D design models.

Procured and tracked construction inventory and hardware through Bechtel’s Procurement Management System (BPS).

Managed the flow of engineering data between construction personnel (Craft, Fitters, and Welders) and design personnel.

Maintained interface control activities for all disciplines in order to resolve design, technical, installation, interface, and material issues of the construction facility using the 3D model as a live interface tool.

Conducted surveillance inspections and approvals of piping and weld installations of the facility.

Provided software training classes for all construction personnel.

Technical Specialist II Designer December 1996 – December 1998

Cogema Engineering

Created engineering conceptual design drawings for Hanford Tank Farm Disposal, Feed Delivery, Retrieval, and Interim Storage Engineering projects.

Gained skills in extensive research and application of design criteria and performance requirements, codes, regulations, and AutoCAD.

Associate Plant Engineer May 1993 – December 1996

Westinghouse Hanford Company

Managed plant engineering assignments for the Tank Waste Retrieval System (TWRS) Engineering, which included preparation of graphics support and engineering drawings for Disposal Engineering Project / Associated Support Facilities.

Prepared Engineering Handbook for TWRS engineers and created performance-based self-assessments (S/RIDs) of TWRS projects and conceptual engineering and as-built design drawings using AutoCAD.
