Director, Supply Chain (August 06 – Present)

Responsible for all aspects of supply chain for five manufacturing facilities, three distribution centers, four 3rd party distribution centers and multiple 3rd party purchased finished goods suppliers.

Develop, implement, and manage strategies to effectively manage raw and finished good inventory pertaining to inventory turns, obsolescence, forecast, demand planning, production and warehousing cost and service levels.

Manage order fulfillment team that is responsible for full order life cycle management in regards to order processing, order entry, product availability, order tracking, returns, and OS&D claims.

Collaborate with various leadership teams and executives across the organization to develop and implement strategies focused on recruiting, OJT (On Job Training), development training for supervisors and managers, associate engagement and succession planning.

Supply Chain Manager (August 98 to August 06 )

Recruited to fill newly created position of Supply Chain Manager for a $200 Million Confections business. With a salaried staff of 8 and an hourly crew of 100 in a 4 Union facility, assumed responsibility for all warehouse operations, 3rd Party storage & handling, raw material and packaging purchasing, MRO purchasing, Supply Planning, Finished goods deployment, and Operations manning.

Negotiated the consolidation of all 3rd party warehousing operations for all local Nestle business, which resulted in the construction of a $5 Million, 100,000 sq ft storage facility that generated an annual savings of over $250,000.

Led the installation and implementation of various inventory management, production reporting, and material purchasing systems. (FMS/DIS, SAP, SWOP, MAXIMO)

Developed and Installed a $1.2 Million Central palletizing project that resulted in annual savings of over $300,000.

Implemented a program to Manage Working Capital that resulted in the reduction of packaging material inventories from over $4.0 Million in 2000 to $1.2 Million in 2004 generating annual WC savings of over $150,000.

In 2002, I assumed responsibility for all Supply Chain operations for the Nestle Pumpkin business in Morton, Illinois. During the 2005 Pack Season our team was recognized by the Division President for setting records for tons harvested and cases shipped.

My team recently executed a material change project for our new Swirled morsels product that will generate over $350,000 in savings to the factory this year.

Over my 7- year tenure with Nestle I have led all Supply Chain activities related to the introduction of many new products. Several examples are Laffy Taffy Minibar, Filled Nestle Nesteggs, Caramel Crunch Singles and Funsize, Peanut Butter and Graham Pretzel Flipz, Nestle Tollhouse Swirled Morsels, and Laffy Taffy Swirled Rope.

AC HUMKO Brinkley, Arkansas

Operations Manager - AC HUMKO Rice Specialties (December 95 to August 98)

Recruited to lead the Start-up of a new Rice Processing plant in Central Arkansas. With full P&L responsibility, I took over the construction phase of the $6 Million project and successfully started up in March of 1996. I was responsible for all phases of start-up to include recruiting and hiring, contractor management, program development, production planning and public relations.

Developed and implemented Production Reporting, Quality Assurance and Inventory Control systems.

Operations Manager - South Texas (April 94 to December 95)

Selected to assume all Operational responsibility for a five month old, $70MM Beer, Wine, and Spirits distribution company in Houston. As the Director of all operations functions for a 125 member team, I had responsibility for all Shipping, Receiving, Transportation, Customer Service, and Planning. In addition, with no on-site Controller or Purchasing Manager, I lead the Accounting, MIS and Purchasing teams.

Uncovered and eliminated a collusive theft effort that resulted in the recovery of more than $300,000 and the implementation of several inventory control systems.

Developed and implemente a Performance Feedback System that covered all individual and team performance accountabilities.

Implemented an Unsaleable management system that generated more than $40,000 in credits from suppliers.

FRITO-LAY, INC. San Antonio, Texas

Operations Manager - Support (September 91 to April 94)

Having survived the biggest reorganization in the history of the company, I was selected to fill one of two Leadership Team positions at the San Antonio Facility. As the plant manager for all Operations Support activities I had responsibility for all Administrative, Raw Material, Sanitation, Receiving, Maintenance, and Project Engineering functions. Over a two year period we generated significant results:

Reduced Plant operating expenses by $100,000 in Six Months.

Improved Plant Safety Performance over 2 year period that yielded a $350,000 reduction in Workers Comp charges.

Led the Maintenance and Engineering functions through the company's biggest product quality initiative in 20 years, resulting in a 4% share gain over the competition in the S.A. Market.

Plant Materials Manager (September 90 to September 91)

Selected to take control of a struggling Warehousing operation, I was promoted and given responsibility for all phases of finished goods distribution in an operation handling $150 Million in annual inventory. Managed a workforce of 6 managers and 40 Warehouse Technicians in meeting the Receiving, Shipping, and Scheduling requirements of a plant producing 140 Line items on a 7 day/week, 24 hour/day schedule.

Developed and implemented cost control systems which resulted in a 19% reduction in case handling costs over a six month period.

Plant Administration Manager (May 89 to September 90)

As the Chief Financial Officer for an operation with a $23.7 Million budget, I was responsible for all facets of Purchasing, Accounts Payable, Manufacturing Performance Reporting, Management Information Systems, and Payroll. In addition, I served as the key Operations Analyst for the Plant Manager.

Through the development and detailed management of a sound financial plan, reduced Manufacturing Valued Added by 5%.

Created an internal cost management system to facilitate issue identification and action planning.

Product Manager (January 88 to May 89)

Responsible for the management of the Potato Chip and Fried Cheeto manufacturing operations for South Texas. With six managers and 95 employees on two production lines, we manufactured product that generated well over $50 Million in annual retail sales.
