During my time at Coastal Timber, I have had the opportunity to sharpen my administrative skills and my duties comprise of; organizing and maintaining files, monitoring inventory regularly and prioritizing required items, preparing a daily sales report, greet and welcome customers and direct them to the appropriate person, answer, screen and forward incoming phone calls, provide basic information in-person and via phone and assist with queries via WhatsApp, receive, sort and distribute stock, perform other clerical duties such as photocopying, scanning and laminating. I have also been active in social media marketing and I have generated posts for Coastal Timber's Facebook and Instagram pages.

From the month of February I haven taken on a sales representative role (in addition to my administrative and social media roles). The program we use to generate sales is QuickBooks and my duties in a sales role include; serving customers by selling products and meeting customer needs, service existing accounts, obtain orders and establish new accounts by quoting on material required and price comparisons, generate new orders by referring to price lists and product literature, keep management informed of sales by submitting a daily report.

Marketing Intern

Being an intern at King Shaka International Airport entailed a variety of duties and during my period of employment I have been exposed to a range of elements and responsibilities, such as; assisting with concept ideas, data capturing, analysis and quality control of data, overseeing promoters, liaison with retail tenants, compiling tenant newsletter, staff rewards/incentives during campaigns, managing of retail artwork on screens at airport, general administrative duties, stock room inventory, distribution of flyers and entry forms to retailers and SMS Marketing. Whilst at the airport I was part of a 2 day event. My duties included; checking quotes, liaising with suppliers and general supervision of the event.

Reason for leaving: I was searching for a permanent position within my field and this contract was close to the end date.
