The objective ofthisprojectisto analyticaly determine the potentialperformance improvementsfrom winglets.Thebaselinewingletconfigurationisacombinationofuniform cantileveredplateandaverticalplateattachedtothewingtip.Criticalloads,deflections,and stresseswereobtainedfrom aANSYSworkbenchbycombinationof wingandwinglet combination.ThegeometricmodelisdevelopedbyusingCATIAsoftware,ANSYS/HYPERMESH softwareformeshingandANSYSsoftwareforresultsinstressandvibration.Subsequently, effectofwingletsonthestructuralperformanceofsweptwingandalsostudied.
