Design of Reinforced Concrete Structure.

Project Name: “Strength and durability of ferrocement slabs embedded with CFRP wrapped welded mesh as reinforcement”.

Description: The aim of my project is to increase the strength of ferrocement slabs with respect to the addition of CFRP along the longitudinal direction. The durability studies are conducted on each specimen to know the resistance capacity of the CFRP towards external loading in acid environment. Totally 32 slabs are casted. Among the 32 slabs, 16 slabs are casted with different thickness 20, 25,30mm and the remaining 16 slabs were casted with different number of mesh layers. They are used for deflection parameter test and for acid résistance test. The ferrocement slabs with CFRP is found to have good resistance towards external loading and under acid environment.

Project Name: “External retrofitting of ferro cement slab using GFRP composites”. Description: In our project, we discuss about the performance of ferro cement slabs. Here the mix design is done with almost care. The compression test was done and got the strength of about 20 N/mm2

. The single layered ferro cement slabs are casted. The results are discussed based on the thickness of slabs. The casted slabs are subjected to failure. The failed slabs are then strengthened by using GFRP composites. Again the specimens were subjected to load. From the result, we came to know the GFRP strengthened slabs can able to gain good strength; nearly 87% of the strength was achieved at the testing.
