Contributed to efforts related to the national expansion of ETS Sponsorship—peer-based mentorship for Veterans within transition from life in the military back to civilian life. Oversaw the timely and efficacious scheduling and training of volunteers in the role of Training Coordinator. Aided in the revision of training manuals to better adapt the training to the online platform Zoom, while improving the quality of the training as the program grew. Oversaw the placement of several servicemembers with a sponsor in the role of Transition Coordinator.

Contributed to the ‘Flexibility in Coping and Emotion Regulation’ project by conducting extensive literature reviews and running participants. Utilized resultant data sets to isolate variables and run analyses in SPSS. Helped modify pre-existing protocols in order to suitably adapt them to a virtual format to continue research during the COVID-19 pandemic. Contributed to the approved Institutional Review Board documents submitted for allowance to conduct the study.

Coded video footage of subjects interviewed in an emergency room to understand how facial actions show positive and negative emotion. Was trained and certified in the Paul Ekman Facial Action Coding System in order to properly code these videos for research purposes.

Coded manuscripts from a humanities research project to elucidate various health consequences of attending school during desegregation in the Middle Tennessee Area. Reviewed interview data and helped write a paper which summarized the project’s key findings.
