Qualified Air Traffic Controller with over six years experience in Air Traffic Control and over four years experience in first line management as Officer In Charge (OIC) at Richards Bay (FARB) Air Traffic Service Unit (ATSU).

Currently studying towards N4/N5 National certificate qualification in Multi-Disciplinary Draughting through Academy of Advanced Technology (Durban). Completed N4 phase and currently busy with N5 to obtain the full qualification.

Provide Aerodrome Control services to air traffic by issuing information and instructions to aircraft to achieve a safe, orderly and expeditious flow of air traffic on and in the vicinity of the Aerodrome.

Assist pilots in preventing collisions between; Aircraft flying in, and in the vicinity of the aerodrome traffic zone; aircraft taking off and landing; Aircraft and vehicles, obstructions and other aircraft on the manoeuvring area.

Assist pilots in distress and responsible for alerting Rescue and Firefighting services during emergencies.

Officer In Charge (Line Manager)

Oversee services provided by team of controllers to evaluate the Safety and Quality of their service and make recommendations when needed.

Develop, amend and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Safety Management System (SMS) and Quality Management System (QMS).

Provide On The Job Training to new controllers (trainees) including; pre-brief, briefings on findings during the shift, required topics and final daily debriefs.

Design Letter of Agreements (LOA’s) and Letter of Procedures (LOP’s) between relevant service providers and other operations.

Presentation on budget planning and relevant targets.

Chair monthly meetings and safety meetings.

Assist Airport Manager with new projects.

Negotiated agreements between employees to clarify misunderstood directives/instructions and resolve conflicts affecting performance.

Monthly administrative schedules, time management and project management.

Manage internal and external audits including corrective action plans.
