Used clinical cases to teach students how to formulate their own questions about patients, look up answers to their questions, present their findings, and give each other feedback on the quality of their learning. The cases run the gamut of medicine and surgery across all specialties and the role of the mentor/facilitator is to encourage inquiry by the students and help them develop patterns of critical thought and deep, self-directed learning. 10 students per class, 2 hours class time per week.
