In this role, I successfully coordinated the quality and efficiency of procurement and purchasing activities and ensured stewardship to acquire goods and services in support of the delivery of high- quality programming to the poor and vulnerable.

Successfully negotiated prices with vendors which enabled the company to acquire quality material at affordable /fair prices.

Participated in supplier sourcing which also included international sourcing for material that’s not found on local market. With this the company was able to acquire one of the7Rs of procurement which is the right source/supplier.

Built positive and long-term relations with suppliers which enabled the company to have good relations with vendors in that even in times of financial crisis the vendors would understand the situation calmly on a round table.

Compared product deliveries with issued purchase orders and as a result, this enabled the company to get the right product/material as per the requisition made by a user department.

I was responsible for coordinating package deliveries and my duties were receiving and unpacking parcels, completing relevant documentation and dispatching stock, record and report breakages as well as sign delivery notes upon receipt shipments.

Effectively managed logistics operations to ensure efficient and accurate delivery of shipment/ ensuring timely disbursement of clearing documents to the clearing agent. This resulted into accurate delivery of shipments

Evaluated RFQs sent to forwarders/transporters and also processed purchase requisitions as well as purchased orders for all logistic costs. This helped the company to move its cargo at a fair price and in time and also have a record of all the logistical costs in the company system.

Expedited and followed up with all clearing agents on imports and exports/ process tax exemptions and permits through government bodies for some specific cargo.

Maintained an archive of all shipments of the company which helped the organisation in times of customs audits they have all the necessary documents required.

Followed up with finance on payment of assessments to avoid delays hence enabled the company to receive material on time when needed.

Established a good working relationship with suppliers and the organization by working in close contact with site miners, truck owners, drivers and clearing agents.

Ensured efficiency by working within given budget lines to prevent break downs by effectively planning and scheduling for the maintenance and repairs, fuel days etc.
