PRODUCTION – PROJECT MANAGEMENT
Participate in Conversion Project Execution Plan preparation at the initial stage and also during the course of Project
Coordination of production activities within specific areas of conversions projects related to: Pre-task planning, Logistics, Expediting, Completions, Repairs of vessels
Study the refurbishment / conversion strategy /client specification / Contract and prepare Master Project Plan for the project
Ensure Project milestones and commercial controls are achieved by effective planning including logistics and execution
Co-ordination with various Yard Departments and Subcontractors on day today basis for achieving the daily targets in line with detailed Project Program
Identify risks at an early stage in the project thus avoiding delays in schedule
Plan and implement continual improvement in safety, quality and productivity .
Installation of Scrubber systems and exhaust gas clean system installation and commissioning and ensure the system operation.
SHIP REPAIRING FUNCTIONS
Overall responsibility for ship-repairing function
Target and develop ship-repairing enquiries through marketing and networking
Prepare Master Repair Schedule and follow up with clients
Identify, assess and manage risks relating to the projects and which could impact the company
Secure ship-repairing contracts to meet performance targets
Liaison and negotiations with clients’ representatives
Regular planning and performance review, and reporting to higher management
Assist the Senior Level Managers in strategic and operational planning.
Installation of ballast water system as per the schematic drawings provided by the owners and also testing the fabricated pipes and systems. Liasioning with Owners and class. Monitoring the job and with engineers on daily basis and ensuring the works are completed in time and trials conducted.
ARTIFICER RESPONSIBILITIES
Ships maintenance production in time bound manner through the concept of planned preventive maintenance
Servicing and maintenance of equipments & Co-ordination of maintenance activities at workshop, yards etc
Handling inventory management of material stores at workshops ensuring adequate level of inventory under stringent quality checks and supply chain management
Supervision of manpower at various shipping locations and stores for optimum output in terms of quality maintenance of equipments and material
Regularly impart on job training to new recruits after completion if their theoretical courses at various levels
Continuously ensured maintenance of proper records at all levels as per given standards.
Liasion with shipyard and contractors and ensuring the works as per schedule are met and completed.
SURVEY OF VESSELS/REPAIRS
Surveying marine vessels such as ships, boats, tankers, and dredges, to ascertain condition of hull, machinery, equipment, and equipage, and to determine repairs required for vessel to meet requirements within time frame
Observe operating tests on machinery and equipment and inspects opened up machinery for interior condition/surveys
Observe testing of cargo gear for compliance with testing standards and issues or endorses certificate for gear tested
Prepare reports on types of surveys conducted, recommended actions and repairs, or conditions remedied.
