Cable Technician-IT Provisioning Tech

Responsible for migration of all INOVA Hospitals and offsite healthcare facilities, which consisted of installation of all network interface devices, Palo Alto, firewalls, routers, cisco 4500, 3850 switches, universal power supply, fiber patch panel, and SFP cards. Rack and stack all equipment in data racks. In addition, tracing the cables from the switches to the patch panels or 110 to 110 block connections from the IT Network closets room. Conducts network device discovery of different host devices. Verifies port connectivity including active and inactive ports, and wireless access points. Confirm proper wall port connections in the workspace. Installing of outlets, pulling cable, fire stopping and pre-termination that includes organizing, forming, dressing and labeling cables to industry standard. Run and terminate cables for new network server, removal and demolition of abandoned cables, knowledgeable in understanding and interpreting blueprint for cable installation. Maintain and reference industry standards including ANSI, EIA/TIA, and local and Low Voltage Code.
