Little Pilots

Founder / Design Researcher

November 2016 - October 2017 (1 year)

Little Pilots was a pre-seed startup with the goal of fostering meaningful professional exchanges between traveling professionals and local students looking to explore new careers. I was responsible for user research and prototyping in order to find product market fit, marketing and proof of concept web development, social media, and business development. Over the course of a year multiple interviews were conducted with students all over the world to get an understanding of their professional development while in university and with professionals in various fields such as Computer Science, Engineering, Web Development, Journalism, Travel, and HR. Different digital prototypes were made and various business models were explored and ideated on.

Eventually, the concept was set aside as a proper form of monetization outside of HR functions was not determined and no other clear product market fit was found. Although the need for more meaningful interactions in mentoring and personal development is still clearly visible.

MediSolutions.

Research, Community and Content Manager

June 2015 - September 2016 (1 year 4 months)

MediScripts was household name in the medical industry since 1981 being the primary prescription pad provider in the United States and one of the only vehicles for brand communication at the point of prescription. After beginning to see the digital trends in the industry slowly eliminating their business model, MediScripts started to search for new business opportunities in the medical landscape, capitalizing on their established trust and relationships in the pharmaceutical and medical fields. They created an internal innovation team that worked to uncover new product opportunities for the company to pivot to in the new digital landscape as MediSolutions.

As part of this internal innovation team my responsibilities were to use the human-centered design process to understand our various customers including doctors, medical staff and pharmaceutical brand managers, as well as business stakeholders. Using various mixed research methods including interviews, site visits, prototypes, and field observation I generated insights for our internal product development as well as developed the content strategy for MediSolutions' online and offline properties.

Online properties included: a website, 3 blogs, a newsletter and 2 social media platforms. Offline properties included various external publications and company sales assets.

I worked closely with various internal interdisciplinary teams as well as partners and freelancers in meeting the various needs for MediSolutions' goal of simplifying healthcare.

Omhu Inc

Marketing and Operations Associate

May 2012 - May 2013 (1 year 1 month)

NYC

Omhu was a NYC based startup designing products for daily living. The philosophy of the company was that medical products and devices that are required by the aging, should work to restore dignity to our friends and family instead of reminding them of their sickness and frailty. Our team was tight-knit and small and much of the work was done in partnership with distributed members and agencies. Being a startup, roles were fluid and the work required an interdisciplinary approach and working method.

Up until Omhu was sold to Sabi in May 2013, my responsibilities were to support Omhu’s social media channels and establish partnerships with various industry blogs and influencers and worked with our agency partners to assist with communications and ideation around marketing collateral. I assisted the CEO with business communications, operations, and scheduling. I attended conferences and trade shows pitching and representing the Omhu brand and working on partnerships with other companies in the same space. I worked with our warehouses, distributors, and manufacturers to facilitate the full product life cycle: including managing shipments of prototypes, facilitating communication with overseas manufacturers, ensuring international distributors and local distributors had enough product for sales, and receiving large shipments of product in our warehouse and performing Quality Control operations. Additionally, I traveled around the country to locate potential stores and wholesalers and pitch them the Omhu brand.
