WORK EXPERIENCE
Legal Aid Society Louisville, KY
Administrative Intern May-August 2017
While interning with this public aid law firm, my responsibilities fell primarily in a project for archiving and analyzing past cases, dating to the firm’s establishment. Alongside a team of other students—ranging in age and occupational aspirations—we electronically preserved the entire archive, while conducting internal research on case statistics and partner turnover. This, in addition to the transferral of legal documents downtown between court buildings, and day-to-day office requests from partners or staff. Young Democratic Socialists of America Louisville, KY Co-chair, Founding Member, Social Media Manager August 2017-May 2019 As a founding member and co-chair of the advisory board of a local youth chapter of the Young Democratic Socialists of America, I had a wide array of responsibilities. I ran educational social media outreach on multiple platforms. I was also responsible for website design and lesson planning into leftist political ideology. As a founding co-chair I wrote bylaws to maintain continued centering and amplifying of marginalized voices. In my last year as acting co-chair I organized multiple direct actions such as protests, coat drives, and a mass book donation to the Kentucky Women’s Correctional Institute. Neighborly Needs, Breonna Taylor/Injustice Square Park Louisville, KY Social Media Manager, Donation Coordinator, Outreach June-September 2020 During the height of the uprisings this past summer, myself and fellow youth organizers started Breonna Taylor Square Park’s “Neighborly Needs” first to provide hot food to protestors before there was more central organization in conjunction with food justice groups and local businesses. When the need was met, we refocused our energy to serving the houseless population in organizing to provide hygienic and other material needs. This entailed maintaining a social presence and building a donation network that reached from New York to Colorado.
Wave FM Black Media Louisville, KY

As a media intern for this Black-run broadcast station, I create op-Ed essay content for their emerging blog site reporting on relevant community news, as well as writing pieces that speak to the zeitgeist of the city right now. My work covers issues from a brief history of assassinated organizers to tracking the movement and development of white supremacist organizations and militias. Louisville Political Education Louisville, KY

For this organization I’ve been responsible for organizing outreach canvassing, fundraising, social media management, and content creation.
