Rice University - Houston, TX

Conducting soil chemistry research on a project examining the potential for land application of a value-added carbon product made from the pyrolysis of methane. Oxidizing and characterizing the behavior of these value-added carbon products subject to environmental exposure (e.g., interaction with UVA, hydrogen peroxide and monochloramine). A comparison is made between methane-derived carbon product, charcoal sampled from Waller County, TX, and biochar. Both lab work and field work are involved in this collaborative project with Shell company. PHD 08/2015 to 02/2020
