EXPERIENCE

Operating Engineer/Chief Operating Engineer, Kaiser Permanente Skyline, Salem, OR (2012-present) Playing a key role in the development, building, repair, and maintenance of a-bed, Level One Trauma Center’s mechanical, electrical, facilities, HVAC, and physical plant systems - as an Operating Engineer and as a Lead (upon promotion); reading and interpreting mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, and blueprints to perform installations and repairs; assessing and setting individual and departmental project and resource priorities; training and assigning tasks to technical and facilities staff; coordinating communication with and selecting contractors and vendors; evaluating team performance and project advancement to make appropriate adjustments; ensuring compliance with all health/environmental, hazardous material, building/electrical code, and industrial safety and quality standards; managing work orders, maintenance records, preparing estimates and making recommendations for repairs, upgrades, and purchases; and leading ongoing safety, regulatory compliance, and staff skill building training sessions.

• Preventing a plant shutdown and loss of over 200,000 cubic feet of food and beverage products by quickly and safely repairing a leaking propylene-glycol pipe system.
