Scrub and circulate throughout all Specialties as rostered.
Accountable for patient care using nursing skills with a professional approach.
Demonstrate and checking and competence in all areas of general Nursing.
Receiving and checking of patients to OR from the Ward nurse.
Establish a good working environment in which the patient receives a high stand of care.
Determine nursing priorities and plan for surgery according to the list.
Ensure that supplies/stores and equipment are available.
Maintaining accurate intra-operative and recovery room records, maintain swab and instrument count calculate fluid loss.
Provide independent nursing care and pain management during pre, intra and post-operative period
Assist patients and anticipate possible postoperative and post anaesthetic complications.
Work a rotating roster including weekends.
