HISTORY

I was born, raised, and went to school in Red Deer Alberta to parents that immigrated from Germany. My first language is English although I speak German and some Russian. In 1979 I started working in mechanics around the machine shops, repair facilities and drilling contractors of Nisku Alberta.

In 1984 got an opportunity to work National Oilwell in Red Deer Alberta now NOV. At that time, it was a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility that built Pumps (100 – 2000 hp) Hoisting machinery, HP Gate valves and down hole pump components. In 1987 I found an opportunity working offshore in the Canadian Arctic for Beaudrill (Gulf Oil). From this I got opportunities working at different places of the world which I really enjoyed. While working overseas and between projects I did quite a lot of work in Canada on shutdowns and short-term projects. In 2017 I stopped working overseas to help my wife care for our parents who needed support.

SUMMARY

Throughout my mechanical career I have paid a lot of attention to Health & Safety, the strength of teamwork, keeping current in technical knowledge with people and on the equipment I work with. Reliability, and efficiency have been front and center in the way I carry out my work. My experience and knowledge base are extremely diverse having worked in industries such as Oil and Gas, Petro Chemical, Mining and Manufacturing. I value the teams I have worked with and attribute much of my gains as a person to the different projects, people and cultures I was fortunate enough to work with.

I feel my strength is being resourceful, having a strong work ethic and being a self starter being able to work with little supervision.

I am in excellent health and enjoy Dog Training, Skiing, Golf and Travel, not necessarily in this order.

My personal goals are to stay involved mentally and physically in projects that I find interesting. From working in the trenches and getting my hands dirty to assisting in management. Shutdowns and Turnarounds are attractive to me but also slightly longer projects building a maintenance system and team to implement it are something I find interesting.

The above information gives a very condensed idea of prior work experience and accomplishments. I look forward to providing more detailed information on specific areas of interest to those that may be interested in help achieving their goals.
