Hairston Brown Financial & Insurance Services is a proprietary Independent Insurance Agency. As Managing Partner, I am responsible for the overall management of the agency, as well as the day-to-day operations. My duties and responsibilities include hiring new talent; overseeing the onboarding and training process; developing performance evaluations; development and policy implementation; and business strategic planning. In the earlier stages of growing the business my duties ranged from accounting and bookkeeping for the agency to managing and servicing client policies. As Managing Partner, of a newly formed business I was not only responsible for managing the systems we had in place, but for the development of most of them still in use today.

Farmers Insurance – Mittie Brown Agency is captive agency formed under Hairston Brown Consulting a proprietary business. As Managing Partner of a newly formed scratch agency my duties and responsibilities ranged from customer service and sales, to the development of office systems and budgeting. Later as staff was brought on, I was tasked with the development of the Agency’s first onboarding process, as well as determining salaries and compensation. Specific accomplishments are as followed:

PIF - Policies in Force increased by more than 450 within the first year of operation.

Responsible for Developing and Implementing the various policies for the office

Determine the salaries and the working conditions of the employees in the office

Developed process to evaluates, assesses and manage the performance of each employee

Design filing system and set-up protocols to ensure that these systems are up-to-date

Set-up QuickBooks to maintain the office budget and keep track of all expenses

Developed a personnel filing system to manage human reassures for the office are up-to-date and secure, and that transfer and disposal of records as per the retention schedule and policies are carried out effectively

Hold regular meetings with staff to review performance of the company and the staff.

Deliver reports and presentations regarding the finances and the working of the office to agency partner
