Nurse Manager of the Transfer Center/Disaster Coordinator for University of South Alabama Health System 2019 - 2021

Directly Responsible for the capacity management of both the University Hospital, and the USA Childrens and Womens Hospital. The responsibility included the management of the Transfer Center, Patient Transport at both facilities, the Transitional Care Unit, and the Direct Admit Nurses. I was responsible for the day to day operations, payroll, scheduling, personnel, budgeting, and planning for the above listed Departments. My responsibilities included managing the Surge Plan, which was a hospital policy outlining the diversionary status based on the metrics of the bed availability and the Emergency Department’s NEDOC score. The Transfer Center utilized the Tele Tracking Software Application, it integrated and automates the facites related to capacity management. I was responsible for the disaster management and planning for the USA Health System. In the roll of Disaster Coordinator, I was directly involved in the planning aspects for the Covid 19 Pandemic patient management, the Covid 19 Vaccination planning, the daily reporting of the hospitals status to the state and federal agencies, coordinating with the local hospitals and health department, and managing/planning for other regional or global disaster.
