Project The Construction of Dualization of Adam to Thumrait Road project includes the dualization of the project road to be constructed as new two-lane road adjacent to the existing road such that the new road together with the old road form the 4-lane dual carriageway. The project is divided into 6 parts and the Part 2 comprises construction of new carriageway from Sta. 120+400 to Sta. 240+100. It includes 9 grade separated interchanges, approx. 50 reinforced concrete box culverts for cross drainage and 144 pipe culverts for median drainage, median dykes and embankment protections.

The project comprises the dualization of the existing single carriageway road from Farq Roundabout to Marfa’aDaris (about 17 km). The existing road passes through the dense urban development of the Town of Nizwa adjacent to a major wadi. The works comprise upgrading existing junctions to signalized intersections, provision of new signalize intersections, the construction of five new roundabouts, three pedestrian bridges, six pedestrian underpasses and two wadi bridges.
